I am having surgery on my lower back tomorrow at 12:00 noon CT. I will be in the hospital for abut 4 days and would appreciate your prayers.

Well guys and gals, it was a wild day yesterday. Today is the 5th of Jan 07. I went to the hospital to have my back surgery and the anesthesiologists started to ask me question about my blood tests that I had taken two days before my surgery was to be done.
To make a long story short, they canceled my surgery because I was a little jaundiced and some of my liver enzymes were higher than normal. My surgeon's assistant started calling all the doctors I had seen last year to see if the high enzyme count was normal. If so they would go ahead with the surgery.
He called my oncologist and she said that the count was not normal but to high, don't do the surgery, and she wanted to see me right away. My wife and I went to see her and she asked all kinds of questions, like if there had been any changes in what I eat or what I do.
My wife said that I had been taking pain meds with Tylenol for over a year. The doctor said that is probably why my enzymes were up. So she has changed my meds to one without Tylenol. Now we wait to see if my liver gets back to normal and then have back surgery.
In case you are wondering why I have been on pain meds for so long, I was in a car accident, March of 2005, when we were rear ended. I was in a company rental car with two other drivers (I'm a Truck driver). My company has been dragging its feet to OK my back surgery. I had other injuries that have been taken care of, and a lot of foot dragging, so it has been a trial to say the least.
So I appreciate all your prayers and they are still needed.
