And man was it amazing. Life is better when I'm not on the computer although it seemed like every day I "needed" it for some reason or another.

Anyway, I came to CF right away!:D

Guess what I did today? Or rather, guess what I didn't do today?

Well, being a total rookie, not even Catholic yet, and having "fasted" the internet for Lent, I was oblivious- no- more like I totally forgot about the fast today.

DUH.

In fact I didn't remember until I came here!

Our protestant friends wanted to get together for dinner with us so we brought pizza over- with meat.

Uh and we ate chicken for lunch too. We knew about the meat thing but we've been told that you can do an act of charity in it's place so we were planning on that.

However, regarding the FAST, TOTALLY FORGOT.

I feel like a complete donkey.

On the other hand, I didn't know about the veneration of the Cross either and can I just say

WOW.

That was the most profound and moving Mass I've been to yet.

Incredible.

AND.

My husband and I said a rosary together on the way to Mass for the first time ever. It was amazing too.

AND.

We got home and there was a message on our answering machine. My 20 month old daughter Meaghan won the local colouring contest!

AND.

you should have heard my little girl praying today. It was precious. She got to kiss Jesus twice and she was SO HAPPY.

so we brought pizza over- with meat.

1st, welcome back.
2nd, if you are invited to a special meal in which you cannot get out of, then you may eat meat...but Good Friday is usually a day to skip invites out.

And for future help... [when you get more involved in the Church] you should try to avoid all get togethers, parties, and et al with friends who will not understand this fast and abstinence.

Not chastising you, just trying to make your life a bit better for the future so you can avoid this sort of temptation.

I know we talked about this... about a friday in Lent, but Good Friday of all the fridays should be adhered to in abstinence.

You will know next time.
