So am I! I pray we have a long Autumn, it seems spring and fall only last a few weeks some years and then are gone. I'm ready to turn the air conditioner off and open the windows to feel that perfect breeze. Yesterday it was one of those days. Beautiful.

We to here in England are starting to see a difference in the morning's and evenings, it is now turning dark at 8pm and the sun does not come up until 5am.
A couple more months and we will start having the frost and snow, then it will be dark at 4-30pm and not light again until 8am. Autum and winter seems so long in England. But the good thing about it is, as a family we can sit in a warm home, have hot meals and warm beds. Just makes me relize how very, very, blessed we are, there are so many who have very little or nothing:cry: .

Oh Lord thank you for your many blessings:amen:

Even as I type right now I can hear thunder clapping in the distance. Our September so far in this wet forest has been dry so rain is welcomed. I also saw two squirrels romping and chasing one another up the tree outside our window.

Except for Stellar Jays making all kinds of excited and loud noises today, the neighborhood is quiet as the kids leave early each morning to catch their school bus out here in the country. It is quiet until they come home. I can bake and bake and the cabin doesn't get overheated from using our oven. No AC or fans are needed. I close the windows early.

My plants are still flouishing. The nights are not really cold yet, but the mornings are chilly. Some leaves are turning yellow and falling off the Rhody bushes which surround our cabin. Fall is in the air.

Birdie we have blue jays here on the east coast, I don't think the stellar jays are found here. If I remember correctly they do set up a fuss when they get going, much more then their cousin the blue jay but both are beautiful birds. Love that blue.
Back to autumn-----the leaves are still hanging in there but at higher elevation they are beginning to turn, mostly it is the weather itself that is the most noticeable, becoming more comfortable.

Yes, keep, those blue jays are pretty with the white stripes on the wings. Saw a Stellar this afternoon who looks larger than a large crow..huge. This one was at least 12 inches. I have seen Mexican Jays in the canyons of SW Arizona. They are really awesome! but like other Jays very aggressive hogging the feeders from other comers.

I miss autumn in Alaska where we usually picked low bush cranberries. :sigh: My friend up there still gets out, picks, and makes cranberry jelly every year. Here there are mostly blackberries but I haven't picked any lately. Very prickly and not so easy to get to like they were when I was a kid spending summers in Portland, Oregon with my big sister and her family.
