Aussies converting to Islam.

Well.. I had a look at the web for an explanation of the Koran's origin and ended up looking at a moslem forum! People there were asking things like this too.
It appears that the moslims believe God sent the Koran to muhammed via the Angel Gabriel. It was written on palm leaves and bones and things like that by muhammed's disciples. So ... I'm none the wiser. Only more suspicious. Never known our God to send anything to the tribe of Israel like that via an angel.
And our Gospel is all eyewitness too. Makes us stop and think doesn't it?

The Islam from Mohummed, is actually about Persians involving Jesus to be their Saviour, so infact Mohummed was a Christian. However, heres the crunch point. When Mohummed died, there was a burning of books until it was refined to one book, the koran. Mohummed's daughter lead an army, which in modern islam is no allowed. There are no "scarf" issues either. Islam took a turn when it split with the shi'ites and the othergroup which I can't remember.

As much as you can say, mr.muslim, islam today is an abomination. The islam before was a well scripted interpertation of the scriptures. Mohummed was a good man, but I recon, if he were here today, he would rebuke all of Islam all together.

A lot of the modern rules of islam, is not pure, but imaginative based on concept, the concepts that had restrictions and meanings have all been burned away. Hence paving evil...

The only reason why, we don't say that allowed in today's society, is based on the Law of Religious Tolerence. So whether a Religion is true or an abomination, we cannot comment on it in public.

So Mr.muslim, your in our domain, and this ain't public for non-Christians.

I have a harsh tongue, as many in this forum would know.....don't make me use it again.

Why should we feel scared about people converting to Islam? Surely they have the same right as you do to choose a religion they feel comfatorble with?

Or have you been indoctrinated into the Channel 7/Daily Telegraph belief that they are all inherently evil and are all terrorists?

Yep! I only have to see where they have cut the heads off 3 innocent law abiding people. Of them parading British naval men blindfolded in circles through sand just for their TV programmes. To know how the men treat their women.
And....that's enough for me without any bombings...

A lot of muslims feel as if Christians are a lower race than they are. They've said things that arn't in consideration of Christians who maybe nearby.

Often they make personal attacks that make it sound as if All Christians are responsible.

For example; They think all Christians are selfish and ignorant, based on the US. Of course any idiot can see that Christianity didn't originate from America, nor does it actually support America based on the increase of the prosperity gospel.

Christians are called by faith to show compassion, generosity and grace because Jesus did the same for us and paid the price to bring our salvation.

This is one thing that Muslims don't agree on because they fear Christians and the reputation of the True Christian's compassion and love for one another.

I've been pulled into talks by muslims in my uni...nearly all of them are shallow talks. The only type of thing they have against Christianity, is their own interpertation of the Bible, which History has shown there are many heretics that read the Bible their OWN way. And they base their absurd arguments on that rather than the Theology we believe in...because they fear us....

Hence they treat us in their minds, as though we are of lower race.

I'm sorry but that is twisted logic. It is the equivalent of saying a group like the KKK is what all Christians are like, becsaue they claim to be true Christians.

There are two sides to every story. Remember that. Just as you don't like to be judged by the actions of a few, neither do they.

No it is not. When the twin towers fell the muslims were dancing in the streets of Sydney. They were dancing in the middle east. And, this disgusted we Australians.
Muslims have also made it plain to friends of mine that they would kill us if it came to war in Australia. (That's IF they are out of the concentration camps they'll have built for them)

Ideotique, this is what they said in the lectureroom, when they held their talks. They were trying to convert me into a muslim.

The idea is, if you have a person of high position, they are a representation of the whole community they govern. So my aim is not at all muslims, rather the majority of muslims in Australia, because the representative came on the behalf of the imam, and hence his responsibility is all the muslims responsibility unless they disapprove.

I understand there are a couple of muslims that don't agree with what the person that came around said...but they are a minority, and their not my target for now.

All muslims are more interested in asking questions to Christians than recieving a well response to their questions, which relates to our Theology.

Now I found myself in Punchbowl in Sydney on September 11 2001 looking at a car, and I do not recall any dancing in the street. I heard shock and dismay, anger at what people had done in the name of their religion and sadness at the needless loss of life.

The local head person has repeadetly apologised and expressed sorrow for what has happened.

As for them approaching you at Uni I am a little confused. I to go to Uni and there is sometimes a little stall set up on the main campus road by the Islamic Student Association. They do not harrase, they do not push pamphlets onto you, nor are they aggressive in any way. Unfortunetly the same cannot be said of EU (Evangleical Union) who are very aggressive in their methods.

At Muhammads time, there were no bibles in the arabic language, nor were books common in arabia. even more astounding is the fact that muhammed never learned to read or write! he was an illiterate in a society where most people could not read. there weren't any bible colleges, libraries, travelling evangelists, or churches in mecca, his hometown. although there was an odd christian here or there in central arabia, none of them were particulalry religious, zealous, or knowledgeable. idol worship was the order of the day, and a person's religion didn't amount to much for most people who were just trying to make it in a harsh land.
furthermore, when you look into the teachings of islam and the contents of the Quran, you begin to realize that the Quran has nothing in common with the bible as far as structure, tone , voice, grammer, or orientation is concerned. if muhammed copied the bible, then the Quran would be similar to the bible, but it is not. there genealogies, letters to friends, tribal histories, books of visions, or accounts of doctrinal developments in the Quran. what we do have is a forceful prose, metered poetry, passionate appeals to reason and faith, and a religious law that is quite disticnt. the Quran is a uniquiuely original book.

In recent years some modern christian evangelists have asserted that there must have been christian sages in mecca who taught muhammad. others go so far as to say that an agent of the pope at that time went to mecca to find a new religion. not only these are theories erroneous, but they are quite a stretch of the imagination. the few christians who lived backward arabia were not knowledgeable scholars, no pope ever wanted to found a new religion in arabia, and the idol worshippers of mecca, who knew muhammad from boyhood, never charged that priests or evangelists taught him anything. most western academic scholars, however, have begun to backtrack from assertions of previous generations and now accept that muhammed didn't have any acces to the bible nor to people who knew a lot about it.

Answers, your name is an oxymoron or atleast your raising up more questions that you cannot answer!

In the time period of Mohummed, there were Christians scattered all around the middle east, europe and asia. If you went to a town/village you'd find that either Christians are there or they've preached there...

look ok, the further you go, the more I'm repeating myself, and the more ridiculous your argumetns sound.

I currently have a book to do with The silk road, that talks about the journey of Silk and the development os Islam, it even has a painting of Mohummed in there...which is unholy...but hey... if yoiu want to argue hard facts and believe that History isn't science...you can argue all you like ok?

As I've said before, Christians existed in Arabia and any arab nations at that time...and Heretics also existed. When you say that it came from nowhere... you're really implying that Mohummed is a liar, even though I know that he was a holy man back then....

...and the history does indicate he did study.

Talk about logic!

Well...he's a different God to the one we know. Our God did not give messages to Gabriel to give to people to write into a book in the Bible.

...but isn't Yahweh the jewish word for God? and the same for Allah? They all share the old testment right? so its the same God but with different understanding.
