Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How many days do attend mass? What is your excuse for not attending daily? I want to visit a mass every day. this is my goal.

This part of the board is not actually limited to just Catholics or other denominations like Catholics (Orthodox, Old Catholics, etc). So basically what will happen is that this will probably spiral out of control into a debate about Catholicism.

I urge you to repost your question in OBOB, or the Apostolic Churches forum if you want a broader audience but still limited to the traditional apostolic Churches.

Anyway, I don't attend daily Mass. I have trouble dragging myself there on a weekly basis. I couldn't attend daily mass if I wanted to though. The church near me offers it only at 9:00 AM. By that time, I'm already at work.

In my church (Orthodox), we normally don't have a daily Divine Liturgy, at least not at the parish level - monasteries may do that, though. At my parish we have a Liturgy on Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. I'm normally only able to attend the Sunday Liturgy, although I could go on Monday mornings (it's at 6am, and I would have to wake up at around 4 or 4:30 to get ready, go to Liturgy, then go to work, and I'm just too lazy to do that). And I'm at work during the Liturgy that we have on Thursdays, and it's too far of a drive for me to take a break during the day for it.

I attend mass every Sunday (although sometimes Saturday evening) and every Monday morning because those are my days off. If my work schedule would permit I would be a daily communicant as it is offered, because I am a better person upon recieving the Holy Eucharist. I know this because people have commented on it. The longer I go without recieveing our Precious Lord the more I long for Him.

do even eastern/oriental churches have divine liturgy everyday? maybe that's just a roman catholic tradition?

To my knowledge it's largely a Western tradition.
