Do you even know what argument from ignorance is? I don't think you do.

First off, the bible had over 40 authors, and then you state that it is absurd that people would write about events in general. Is the fact that people wrote about the bible absurd?? If so, then who cares, people still wrote about it.

Just because it is absurd, doesn't mean people won't do it.

Plus what source are you getting this information from?

I mean you are literally saying that it was absurd for people to write things down.....wow.

-what context? I honestly believe you made that up. Honestly, first time I ever heard someone saying that writing something down is illogical in any time period. How did they keep historical records? Oh wait they did.

I honestly think you are trying to get a rise out of now. I feel sad for you if anything, if you really think this is a good defense, and if you think a law that forces a woman to marry her rapist is a justifiable law given any circumstance then I believe you are severely morally corrupt.

Yes of course, I travelled back in time from 5,000 years ago to 1800 years ago and all points in between and single-handedly changed all the history and culture, just for the purposes of your thread

Here is my rational, logical argument for the existence of god:

1. You believe that your life has a purpose. If you truly did not, you would have no reason not to commit suicide

2. Purpose is not a physical property that we can measure, like size or weight. In order for something in this universe to have a purpose, it must be given by something else, which also must have a purpose, which must be given by something else and so on. If anything in this chain does not have a purpose, it nullifies all of the purposes which depend on it.

3. Working backwards, you ultimately see that if anything is to have purpose, there must be some root which gives purpose without needing one itself.

4. Since all things within this universe which give purpose also need a purpose, this root purpose must exist outside of the universe. This is the very definition of God.

Therefore, in order to logically believe the statement "my life has purpose", you must also believe in the existence of God.

The actual origin of life is so far back in the time table that it isn't really on the forefront of study just yet. Not only is it not part of the theory of evolution, it isn't even an actual field yet! It's just that new!

I am not talking about chemical reactions in living things, but chemical reactions before there was life. This has been a study topic for 200+ years.

Logical arguments alone don't prove anything. This is just a rewording of the first cause argument too.

It is weird when someone think of "something outside of the universe" they think "god". Like you REALLY know what is outside of the universe or if there is even something outside of the universe to begin with.

Hold a parents hand, there is the love of God, the Spirit guiding you...
Close your eyes and smell the aroma after a spring rain, there is the loving embrace of God..
Caress the hair of a dying loved one, there is the mercy of God...
See the faces of hungry or hurting people, there is the charge of the Spirit to intervene, to help...
Feel the exhilaration of snow blowing around you, there is God touching your face...
See the calloused hands of one who has worked hard their whole life, these are the hands of Jesus working in you..
Watch a mother feed her infant, there is God feeding us with unconditional love..
See the rays of sunshine pouring through the clouds, these are the arms of God embracing you...
Be held in the warm embrace of a friend, these are the arms of Jesus saying "I love you"..

God is all around us, begging us to "feel" His presence in the many ways He shows Himself to us.. We but only have to "see" to "feel"...

I had planned to go down to the Valley to ask people out to church as was my habit at the time. In the end I went anyway regardless of the fear. I walked up to the first person I met and asked him if he would like to go out to church. He said to me "I am an atheist, I don't believe in God". I just said "fine", but hoped to change his mind. He then proceeded to unbutton his shirt and showed me scar marks up and down his chest and stomach. He said to me, "I was attacked by a knife wielding man in the Valley some time ago and spent months recovering in hospital, How could God allow that to happen to me". Then I knew why God had said in the morning "How would I like to be stabbed?". God understood this man, but had a good plan for him. Some weeks latter this man came out to church and became a Christian.
