Just out of curiosity, what will you Atheists be celebrating this Christmas Day --- if anything?

Although not an atheist, as an agnostic I'll be celebrating the end of most of the junk mail I've been getting for the last five - six weeks. And, the end to the interminable Xmas related shows and commercials on the telly.Just out of curiosity, what will you Atheists be celebrating this Christmas Day --- if anything?
Does any show stand out as particularly annoying?Although not an atheist, as an agnostic I'll be celebrating the end of most of the junk mail I've been getting for the last five - six weeks. And, the end to the interminable Xmas related shows and commercials on the telly.
No. In fact, some are quite entertaining at times. It's just their constant presence that wears thin very quickly.Does any show stand out as particularly annoying?
life, family, gift giving, various pagan holidays, holidays infused with pagan origins, drinking, eating ect..Just out of curiosity, what will you Atheists be celebrating this Christmas Day --- if anything?
Thank you for proving my pointlife, family, gift giving, various pagan holidays, holidays infused with pagan origins, drinking, eating ect..

You're scientists, aren't you?Criminey.
What does this thread have to do with Physical and Life Sciences?
Seriously, WHAT does this have to do with Physical and Life Sciences?!?
No, it's not --- if you're celebrating some scientific discovery we don't know about --- clue us in.Off topic thread is off topic
Well --- that certainly narrows it down, doesn't it?life, family, gift giving, various pagan holidays, holidays infused with pagan origins, drinking, eating ect..
Missed it by three days.I'm celebrating the Winter solstice...
Just out of curiosity, what will you Atheists be celebrating this Christmas Day --- if anything?
And this celebration just happens to be on December 25th, right? But to get to the heart of your question, we gather to celebrate our family.
And this celebration just happens to be on December 25th, right?
Either that, or God threw those pagan holidays a left curve by having His Son born right smack dab in the middle of them. And, of course I don't have to tell you that "Christmas" is a holiday made up by Christians to compete with pagan winter holidays, and many of the traditions celebrated on Christmas are an amalgamation of Christian and pagan traditions.
No argument there, my friend. I'm just trying to get a feel for what atheists celebrate on this particular day, and why.But there's no need to fight over Christmas. You celebrate the birth of your savior, and let others celebrate whatever they wish to celebrate. It's a good time to be civil with your fellow man.
Well, even though this thread is targeted specifically to Atheists, and even though I do believe that Atheism is a non-Christian faith (and apparently you do too), I'd rather have it here, since I'm sure they've got a scientific reason for selecting December 25th to celebrate something.I think some strange threads have been created since (all religions) "Apologetics" has been closed. So, Christians like AV have no other place to turn... Or is "Non Christian Faith" a more appropriate spot for topics like these?
you also must realize that december 25th is not his literal birthday, no one knows the day that jesus was actually born.Either that, or God threw those pagan holidays a left curve by having His Son born right smack dab in the middle of them.
It doesn't matter --- whether He was actually born on that day, or His birthday got moved to that day --- it is December 25th.you also must realize that december 25th is not his literal birthday, no one knows the day that jesus was actually born.
