  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I would use Fuji ISO 800 or 1600 film. You're going to want a long shutter opening(15-30 seconds) and you'll need a tripod and remote shutter release. Take a look at

it should be able to help you. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I mostly shoot news and sports so I'm no good in this subject.

you should be able to get unzoomed pictures at about 15 seconds with 800 ISO film, 24mm lens, and a dark site. You should make sure it's a DARK site -- look for something where you can at least make out the milky way -- the darker the better.

Also, do make sure you use a tripod and a cable release, there's nothing worse than getting funny patterns in all your stars from vibrations when you pushed the button.

Tape down as many settings as you can (like infinite focus and the bulb setting).

You won't be trying to get pictures of deep colour because unless you get REALLY dark, or really zoomed in through a telescope, you'll only get a dull yellow from sodium streetlights. Instead of dealing with film that is primarily designed to caputure shots during the day or with flash, you might try using standard black and white film. I think you might like the results better just because it's so easy to get false colours in regular film (unless you do a LOT of research and are willing to pay for the results).
