Soulwings I am glad you gave your testimony and that you spoke the truth about this. I'm sure there are many others who God have giving insight to about astral projection and the deception behind it.

Izarya, from my family background and the area that I live in, the occult is a big thing here. It is to the point that I can say the half of the people in my church have experience things of the occult one way or another. Some people grew up in an environment where they don't come across these things, thus do not believe it. While others have grown up in this environment and are very aware of it being an everyday thing. God's church is full of diverse people that come from many different backgrounds. What we all have in common is that Jesus Christ delivered us from our sins and from the pits of hell. But God uses our background and experiences at times to bring the truth or awareness to those who may not know much on certain subjects. But to know the truth one should seek God first and foremost. He will give you knowledge so that you can be able to discern things that are of him or things that are not.

Yes there have been many who have died during astral projection and doing any other occult stuff. That is to be expected since they are doing something which exposes them to the spirit of death and demonic attacks. Now in my church there have been many former occults who Jesus Christ have delivered and rescued from being killed by the same enemy who have giving them these demonic powers or abilities. Some former occultist will tell you that once the enemy, familiar spirit, or demon finish using you for whatever purpose that they try to destroy you. The enemies goal is for you to die doing this. The reason is very obvious, the person who dies in this condition is not saved therefore, they have no chance to repent and such. The enemy doesn't want you to have any chance, but God does as he pleases and have on many occassions delivered or save many who were in these situations. Many people who used to be in the occult in my church said themselves that they were at a point where they were about to die when Jesus Christ by his power literally took them out of the situation and saved them. Their promise to Christ was to testify to others about their experience in the occult and how Jesus Christ delivered them from the lies and destruction of the enemy to warn others about satan's deceptions. Many of these former high level occultist testify to their experience.

One thing that they said about astral projection is that when they did it to travel and to do their bussiness, that they would see a silver cord that attach them to their physical body. This cord is long enough for you to go anywhere in the world. This particular guy who was high level stated that he knew a guy who was also in the occult who would astral project frequently to travel for whatever purpose. The rule in the occult was that you had to close your doors so that no one would come in the room when you were doing this. If they walk in while on you while you were doing this, the person who was astral projecting would die. He stated that this happened to the guy he knew who died during astral projection and he is not the only one.

Now I am cautious to say that what this man says is the absolute truth, but he is a person who Jesus Christ has delivered from the occult and his story is similar to others who also have been delivered from the occult. Now also people who astral project might die because of their cord being severed and from these demonic beings attacking them. Always know that when you mess with the darkside something will go wrong. They also talk about meeting principalities or beings that were protecting a certain area or country. These fallen angels or air spirits aka demons had to give them permision to allow them to go into certain areas or countries. This confirms what the bible says about principalities and how when we pray, the angel of God who brings the answer to our prayers are at times met with resistance, being principalties who guard certain areas. Like I said seek God to confirm these things to you. I'm not going to go into further details about these things because it is a very sensitive area to get into. One needs to seek God on this. But nevetheless, they spoke of these things that happened to them and how Jesus Christ delivered them.

Now God allowed some to experience things for teaching purposes and so they can warn others about this. God's children are being taught about the spiritual world because it is something that we need to know for warfare purposes. But only God can show you the truth, not man nor fallen angels or demons. I could have going into details about my experience, but again I am cautious because of the deception involve in it so I'm not at this moment. But don't go asking those who are in the occult for the truth because you would be asking for trouble. The only people who may give you truth to their experience are those who are born again and have been saved by the blood of Christ. Always have God confirm things to you.

God uses people who were in certain conditions to help deliver those who are in similar conditions. God knows that a person who is a drug addict will more readily listen to someone whose been in that same situation. They want to listen to someone who understand what they are going through and will not judge them. The enemy thought that he could destroy some through these deceptions , but God turns them into testimonies to help others who are in that situation and need to know the truth. So Soulwings, this is the reason why God allowed you to have this experience as you already know. The same goes with everyone else who have God has allowed to see the truth behind these things.

There are so much that me and others have learned about the spiritual realm and its not from anyone else, but God. There are so many things that I could write about that God have shown me or confirmed to me, but I wouldn't be able to because its only through God that you will be able to understand and not be deceived. We are all curious, but our curiosity can get us into trouble. God wants us to learn about the spiritual realm so that we wont be deceived, but for us to know the truth we must first seek God. Seek God and everything else will fall into place. God will open your spiritual eyes and ears and show you the truth. But Know that God will never contradict his nature or word. Also do not be so caught up in these things, but always place God as number one. You will only get into trouble if you let your curiosity get to you, just stay focus on God who is truth. Sorry for writting so much.

For those who God have shown the truth to, don't be afraid to tell it like it is, you are doing your job.

The deception is that they tell you it is safe to project because your cord will always stay attached to your body. It can also not get severed.

But this is false. If that were true, demon possession would not be possible, but we know it is because the Bible says that it is. So it is possible to get possessed during projection. It makes the cord insignifigant... and I beleive that it is a deception of the enemy to make you think that projecting is totally harmless.

Far from the truth. I also heard about the open doors thing, this is also false protection. You cannot close a door, if you have sent out invitation for demons to come in. It is like saying there is protection outside of the Lord, and it is again saying the possession is not possible. If the door can only be opened by direct spiritual intervention, then that would say that athiests would not be able to get possessed. This is false, because they are able to get possessed and influenced by the spiritual (demons). 'Doors' in the occultic speech, is very different than the word 'door' in the Bible.

The deceptions are subtle, but they are there. Nothing can be trusted in the occultic doctrine.

From what I've heard the "silver cord" is what keeps your spirit attached to your physical body.

"Or if ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it."

Some believe the golden bowl is the head (head injury); the pitcher is the lungs (lung disease) and the wheel is the heart and circulatory system (heart failure). But the most interesting one is the Silver Cord. This is the only place in the Bible this term is used. The Hebrew word for "loosed" has the idea of being removed far away. This is not the spinal cord. It appears to be describing the departure of the spirit of a man - natural death. When a man dies, it is also true his spirit departs.

Yes, that is the function of the silver cord. Atleast, that is what they teach you about astral projection.

That is the verse from the Bible they shared with me when I asked if astral projection goes against christianity. It is true that the silver cord is mentioned here... but a golden bowl, a pitcher and wheel is mentioned too. If the 'silver cord' is mentioned to define that which attaches the spirit to the body, then the other things mentioned should be the same. I do not see this as proof of commending astral projection.

Reminder (not an attack against anyone ): before Jesus was brought into His ministry, He went through a 40 day desert periode. The devil visited Him, and brought various scriptures to His attention. These scriptures, although quoted from God-breathed texts, were misused and placed out of context to tempt the Lord.
Scripture is correct when is it in the right context and spoken coherently with other Biblical passages.

I agree, but many people tend to make what they want out of the scriptures to fit what they imagine to be coherent and correct.

Aside, I never commended astral projection, nor do I encourage anyone to do it. I simply think that everything is not so "cut and dry." A little off topic, but in the Old Testament, we have the story about the disobedient prophet. He was killed by a lion because God told him not to stop anywhere, just handle his business, and come back home. He stopped at the house of another prophet, and was judged.

Then we have the story of Jonah, he attempted to be disobedient. Tried to go in the opposite direction from that which he was instructed to go, was swallowed by a whale, spit onto the shores on Ninevah, and argued with God relentlessly. He was forgiven, it would seem. More than forgiven! God took time out to instruct him in a lesson of morality, and mercy, and love of humanity...
Everything indeed is not black and white.

Looking at the last sentence of that scripture more closely.... I do see how the silver cord could describe the loosening between spirit and body. But, the way that the astral projection supporters explain how the silver cord works, goes beyond this simple scripture. The silver cord is given a whole lot of traits that the Bible doe not mention. It is adding teachings that the Bible does not teach.

That is the burden of still being on this earth without complete knowledge, and ever discovering new revelations on the Word. That is why it is important to bear with eachother and not to attack another for any mistakes that are made.

We are all ignorant to a certain extent.

I didn't mean that you commended astral projection. I was referring to the people who teach it (astral forums ect)... they usually use that scripture to make it sound okay.

The Bible has got many strange accounts. What you wrote also makes me think of Balaam (sp?). The Lord tells him to go with the people, and yet when he saddles his donkey, an angel is blocking his path with a sword in his hand.

I am curious what you believe on astral projection... if you think it is not simply black and white.

Sure! I'll put myself "out there" for scrutiny, and or ridicule. Fist Colossians 1:16-17 Says,
"For by him (Christ) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." As you can tell, I take this quite literally.
Now, I have openly said in my profile, and I am not now ashamed to admit, that I have an extensive background in Kabbalistic philosophy, and Theosophy.
It teaches that there are four worlds of existence, they are:
Altizuth: Which represents the Divine mind, or creative genius of God, here all things exist, as far as they are real because God concieves them, but they are yet "mental images" in the mind of God for lack of a better term.
Briah: The creative world, the "ideas" of God exist here in more definate but generic form, it is also called the world of archetypes.
Yetsirah: The formative world or "astral plane." here things begin to become more concrete, as to the extant that they are comprehendable to human reason, it is also the world of thought forms or human ideas.
Assiah: The manifest world. Physical creation. what we can see. The mundane world.

I believe that we all have different God given abilities, and what works for one, may not be for another. I believe that through Christ, if one is firmly grounded there is no need to fear the unknown, because all of creation is under the dominion of Christ. I also do not give way to demons or satan, or believe that they have rule over me in any way.
I would also like to note, that since man is in essence, made in the image of God, these things exist to some degree within man himself, being divided as various parts of the psyche, as we call it. So experiences greatly depend on the imagination and idiosyncrasies of the one who undertakes such a journey, and for what purpose, and his or her expectations.

That is the reasons why I didn't want to get into details. You wouldn't know how to discern the information if its not by the holy spirit since the word does not go into details about these things.

The guy who was giving his testimony did not mention open doors in the spiritual sense. What he said was that the guy he knews left his room door unlock when he was astral projecting and a family member walked in the room that had his physical body, causing the guy who was astral projecting to die. I don't know if this also sounds familiar. But of course like you said its not going to make any difference whether your physical or spiritual door is closed because its not going to stop that person from exposing themselves to demonic attack and death.

The funny part is the fact that there are so called rules in the spiritual world in the first place. Like you said its a deception for others to think that they will be safe if they follow that rule. The people who testify about these things were trying to explain what it was all about and the deception behind these demonic things.

I shake my head when some believe that white magic is good and that black is bad. People like to disguise white magic under the guidance that if you follow the rules and you do not harm others that there is nothing wrong with it. Some people can't graps the fact that there are no exceptions and that the satan's spirit is behind these things. Even the bible talks about new teachings that will arise to deceive many and there are many being deceived. See, I believe that God created and is the author of everything... Including the Zodiac. Revelations 22 speaks of the tree of life, that bare 12 manner of fruit, one every month, and was for the healing of the nations. That knowledge was lost by Adam, but who's to say it's not being opened back up according to God's plan, the Grace of Christ which removed the transgression/curse.
Eziekiel's wheels are also an allusion to the Zodiac, as are the Cherubim. The four faces: one of a man (aquarius), an ox (taurus), a lion (leo), and an eagle (ancient symbol for scorpio).
These details sure are not found within the Biblical text, but can't God lead one to the information he intends for us to have? Does everything have to be "Satanic?"
I think that is sad, My faith in Christ's direction of my life is stronger than that.

Sorry about my bad grammar in the last paragraph. When I was in high school, my friends and I used to read our so called astrology signs at times from newspapers and magazines. I even found myself getting books on astrology. I was a curious person in my rebellious years. My pastor would talk about the evil that existed in reading your astrology and I wouldn't listen to him. But that paticular time, I was at home reading a testimony and it spoke to my spirit. This was the holy spirit convicting me. I realized that I had open doors in my life and God confirmed these things to me.


That is the main method that psychics use to make you think that they are telling the future. God created the heaven and the earth and the stars above. So yes everything is under God's authority, but when one uses astrology to know the future and such it is no different than the psychics. God tells us not to worship the sun, the moon, the stars and such. Astrology is all about worshipping these things that were created by God. Astrology reading went back to Babylon and it is demonic.

Right, for signs as well. But, how can one see these signs if we are forbidden to look at the stars?

Why does everything have to be about worship? I thought we were talking about observing. To "worship" them is something else entirely, but to observe? I wear a watch to observe the time, I do not worship my watch.

Well Missy, I guess you see things one way, I see them another. I tend to approach things from an academic perspective, not a religious one, as far as gathering info goes. The historian Josephus tells us that Abraham taught the Egyptians astrology, as well as arithmetic as he was from Ur. I don't believe that Satan is the author of anything, not even Satanism! God IMO, is in control of everything... As he said, "I will send upon them strong delusion that they may believe a lie."
A two-edged sword!

Anything that we do that is before God and goes against his word is a form of idol. In a way we are worshipping those things because we choose them over God when we do them. Observing the stars in the sky is not what I speak of. There is nothing wrong with getting a telescope and looking at the stars. What I'm talking about is astrology and fortune telling. This is more than simply just looking at God's beautiful creation. I'm going to look at these things from the perspective of the word of God. And I see that we wont agree on this.

But I do write these things for curious christians who might be browsing this thread and may be thinking about doing these things. I feel that God wants us to tell the truth on these things and that is what some of us are doing. The truth being that for those who are christians, these new age and occult things are against God. Its written in the word. I did not make up these rules, but God made these rules to protect us from the consequences of doing these things. In the end, I don't feel guilty in my responses to this thread.

For those who have spoken the truth about these deceptions, it is out of our hands if someone read the many warnings in this thread and still choose to get involve in these demonic things. God will not hold us guilty because we have spoken the truth. As christians its not about intellectuals or man's philosophies, its about God and what he says, not what man says. I'm trying not to deceive others and just going by what God says. I went to college and did the whole man's search for the greater truth type of stuff, but all this means absolutely nothing before God. You can't go wrong if you stick with God's words.

AT LAST, someone ELSE on here who actually KNOWS something. Besides me and about 3 others I mean.

I posted about this in another section of the forum but thought I'd recap here since THIS discussion is more mature and actually focusing on the TOPIC ....

I have astral projected before. There are two different ways to accomplish this. One is where you actually remain inside the body but access the astral plane through the mind -- this is more like the doppleganger effect or an incidence of bilocation. The other is one in which you actually leave the body consciously.

The FIRST type involves something similar to a trance state. Deception may occur because you may believe what you are seeing/feeling/hearing/accessing is real when in fact it is illusory and fabricated by malevolent entities. A similar phenomenon occurs in certain types of "sleep paralysis" where, instead of the usual sense of suffocation or sense of being awake but trapped in your body unable to move or speak, you are held down under the conscious level and "transported" to another "parallel" type world, where afflictions and tortures and torments are visited upon you by demonic forces.

The SECOND type of astral projection, however, is fully conscious and does NOT involve any trance state whatsoever. In this type you actually LEAVE your body and experience moving through the physical realm as a spirit. I have done this before and even walked through a solid door, which was quite an experience!!!!! :o I used to work with this kind of practice about 8 years ago, and met with a significant degree of success after finding the proper method for me (most traditional deliberate methods did not work; I used the method of "assuming it is already happening and learning how to recognize when it happens" to get there). I have NOT worked with this sort of thing for many years now, so don't go thinking I do this today.

If anyone has any questions and would like to ask someone who actually KNOWS FIRSTHAND what they are talking about, feel free to PM me or write back on this thread.

Do NOT, however, expect me to train you in how to do this.... not offering to do that.

I enjoyed talking about astral projection in a normal conversation, but since this was a great sin for me in the past, I do not want to let myself get swayed in any way.

I respect the fact that we may all share different life views, but I wish to keep on a straight path. The only thing I see as trustworthy, is the Word of God which is the Bible. Anything that comes from outside, I see as false unless there are scriptures which can be found support the ideas.
I see the world as a place were Satan dwells. Satan has power to deceive, he has power to harm and destroy. The archangel micheal knew this. Even as he was fighting satan over Moses' body, he could only reply 'the Lord rebuke you'. We also see in Revelation what Satan is able to do.
Satan has no power over the beleiver because we are protected and freed by Jesus' Blood, and it is the Truth that keeps us from being deceived.
So... I am keeping away from any doctrines on astral projection because they are not supported in the Bible.

Well, one thing I would like to add, since no one that is arguing against astral projection or any other type of "occult" doctrines didn't include it in their list of cons;

The practices and disciplines of occultism, mysticism, and spiritualism in general, though arguable as to the nature of their origin as to whether they be good or evil, promote or lead to belief in the self for spiritual fulfillment and gratification, and self reliance! For these reasons, it should be avoided, as the changes in one's self are subtle, and can go unnoticed for some time, if at all.

When we begin to believe that power lies solely within us, and that we have the inherited ability to effect our world, and the actions of others, we lose sight of the bigger picture, and we are effectively side-stepping, and denying the person, and power of Christ. He said "Without me you can do nothing." spiritualism says, you can do whatever you put your mind to.

Just thought I'd add that, in case this thread was sparking curiousity within anyone. This to me, is where the sin lies.
