• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The best thing to do is tp confess repent and ask for forgivness. Lust is a very powerful influence on us but it can be overcome. :)

My advice is to check out the Men Pornography Addiction forum. You can get some advice in there. There are many people in there that struggle with the same thing as you :)

Thanks for the response. Well I didn't touch to the red hair girl. But masturbation occurred afterwards. Thing is, I associated the colour 'red' to the devil and then also to the Blood of....
I may have also thought of blasphemous thoughts. And then I still gave into masturbation afterwards.

Is this forgivable?

I know where you are coming from. Temptations of lust normally come through my intrusive thoughts and well it tends to arouse me. pretty annoying. For me, the enemy knows I have intrusive thoughts and He uses seductions and temptations through my illness to get me to sin and be disobedient to my Father.

It isnt suprising it would happen to you or anyone else for that matter. It is forgiveable but we need to learn to be self-controlling. which is the Fruit of the Spirit.

You need to take this to God. He will show you how you can overcome this. I think people in that forum that I linked you too would have some great insight for you as well. As they have fought this with addictions ;)

God can forgive you. But we are not to walk in the flesh but in the Spirit. We need to turn from lust and turn to God instead.

Thanks for the responses, guys. There something else that just happened and I'd like to talk about it, but instead of starting another thread, I decided to use this one. Although the topic is a bit different, it's about bad thoughts again.

I was playing the game Age of Empires II, a real-time strategy and the opposition's monk kept converting my army to turn them against me. I got a bit frustrated and had a bad thought thinking I wanted to kill that monk and 'cut his head'. I prayed and asked God for forgiveness and not be so angry over a game. Is there anything else I need to do?

I wouldnt stress yourself over it. Just count it as an intrusive thought. Just let it go, its the best thing. If you worry and get yourself anxious about it, you will just cause more intrusive thoughts/obsessions to arise and that isnt what you want
