  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there,

Have a question...when you do wrong or think you've done wrong or feel bothered in the conscience about something - which can seem very small... where do you draw the line in asking for forgiveness?

- do you ask God to forgive you and move on?
- do you also ask the person involved (if any) to forgive you? (it may have been so small that they dont even realise it or know about it too)

thanks

That is a difficult one..

it really does depend I guess on what you think God is telling you to do.
I have asked forgiveness from people and they didnt even register what I had done but before God I had felt I needed to ask their forgiveness.
I wish I could help you more but I really cant because I have the same dilemma at times of not knowing what is needed.

I have one time asked some other people to pray that I would know if there was anything more I needed to do to make a situation right. I didnt say what it was about just asked for prayer that I would know if there was something more I needed to do.

I had asked forgiveness but one of the people held it against me unfortunately so I tried to do things to bless them until it came to a point where it seemed that God was saying I had done all I could and it was ok to leave that person's heart in His hands and move on.

each situation is different

God bless you
