My Father went on to be with the Lord yesterday afternoon at the age of 84. My Father lost his own Dad when he was just 13 years old when Japanese soldiers captured and possibly executed him.

My Father was my best friend and was a loving Father the whole time in my life, I am blessed to have had him on this Earth. I am having a really tough time right now, but at the same time I am glad he is no longer in pain. His kidneys failed the last few days of his life and he had trouble breathing. I was in the hospital with my family all yesterday afternoon and watched my Father take his last breaths of life. I know he is with Almighty God now. Thank you for reading.

Praying for strength for yourself and your family.

I know it's tough in times like these because they're gone from here, just remind yourself of where he is now whenever you're saddened by his absence.

Question for my Reformed brethren, at the moment of death the Christian is immediately ushered into the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, although the receiving of the glorified bodies does not happen until the Resurrection of everyone to either the Resurrection to life or the Resurrection to condemnation, is that correct?

That is the truth….therefore correct.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord…(2 Corinthians 5:8)

May you, and your family, and all those who loved your father, take comfort in this truth.

May the Father of mercies comfort you all in your grief…Amen

I was sadden by the news bro and just wanted to restate with the others that yes absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Let your heart move from grieving to rejoicing in this knowledge.

"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Yours in the Lord who saves to the uttermost.
