Way to go England. That's the way it should be. God should be everywhere!!!

Do the employers in England require the MCSE certs like here in the states in order to get paid well?

If not, is having college degrees etc essential in acquiring work there?

By the way Theo . . .HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR THEO! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Yep, except it's Iceland and not England. But, like England, we have a state church which the government supports.

Most don't require it. In fact, when I mentioned that I had an MCP certification to some prospective employers about 8 years ago, they didn't even know what it was. The city doesn't require any certifiction for most things. A college degree is needed for some higher level jobs though.

straigtening me out on where you are from! You know you're getting old when . . .you don't even remember country flags .

The U.S. has really pushed the need for degrees bigtime over the last 10-20 yrs. Gone are the days when someone can get a job because they have a desire to do a thing!

Do you pray for your country and leaders Theo?

Yes. I pray that God may send a bolt of lightning on the parliament building before they completely destroy this country. (Just kidding)

Seriously, I don't pray for our politi ians as much as I should. Only around election time actually.

So...how come a handsome, intelligent guy like yourself--who would be considered a great catch by most single women--hasn't gotten himself "caught" yet?

Aren't there any attractive, single women in Iceland?
Or did you date 'em all already?? (he,he!!)

Get caught? Hmmm... There's an idea. Maybe I should stop trying to catch them and let them catch me. Actually, it's not important since I've found somebody right here on CF. I'm going to go meet her in 3 weeks.

Haven't posted in this thread for a while, but. . . .

Summer is fast approaching - do you have special plans for this summer?

edie

I sure do. I spent the last 2 weeks in Las Vegas with CoolMom4. I'm going back this summer to spend more time with her. Hopefully, I'll be able to spend 3-4 weeks with her this time.

What are you going to miss most about Iceland when you move back to the United States?

Besides my friends, the things I'll miss most are clean water and air. Wolfman Jack came to Iceland once and on being asked what he thought of it, he said: "I can't see the air. I don't know if I'm breathing." Nobody couold say that in LV.

CoolMom4 said:
What won't you miss?

Prices. Everything is more expensive here. Another thing I won't miss will be taxes. Income tax here is 37.5% and sales tax is 24.5%. I don't have a car but, 70% of the price of gasoline is taxes and the same can be said for cars.

What are you most looking forward to in LV?

Spending time with the woman I love.

What are you absolutely dreading??

{ILY;BTW}

You mean besides going back to Iceland? I'm not really dreading anything. The thing concerns me most would be the weather. 120F and 5% humidity doesn't sound at all comfortable.
