I want to make a prayer request for my sister-in-laws sister, Ashlyn.
Last Thurs. night Ashlyn was riding in a car with her boyfriend. I think he may have been drinking. He was driving fast and passing cars. He later ran off the road a bit and had overcorrected his driving causing the car to hit head on with a truck on Ashlyn's side. The driver of the truck and the boyfriend were okay. But Ashlyn had gotten trapped in the car and had to be cut out and flown to the hospital. She has five broken vertabrae in her neck. She can't move her legs or her arms. The doctors aren't sure if she'll be paralyed yet or not. They have her on some kind of breathing machine too. She is also 5 1/2 months pregnant. On Thurs. night she was having contractions and the doctor had to stop them. At the scene of the accident the boyfriend was arrested for reckless driving and then later was released on bond.
Now Ashlyn had an operation yesterday to put cones or something in her legs to help with circulation. They are keeping her sedated because seeing people upsets her. And they are giving her steroids to help the baby develop its lungs faster. They may have to take it in a couple of weeks and place it in an incubator type thing at the hospital for awhile. Also at the moment Ashlyn is not doing well. She has fluid built up around her heart and her lungs.
I ask that you pray for her to get well and for her unborn child.
