I'm just sitting back watching it.

I guess they are trying to do things decently and in order in some ways, but I'm not hearing anything about the gifts operating there. If people are going to make the claim that The Holy Spirit is there, well people should be getting born again, filled with The Spirit, and the corporate gifts should be operating. The Asuza street happening was documented as having a lot of similarities to Acts 2. Granted there was the falling out/slain in The Spirit stuff happening, but the filling of The Spirit and the gifts operating was front and center.

GOD does do things differently at different times, I do understand that, but if the Asuza street revival was following the template of Acts 2 in many respects, I expect GOD to do the same thing in other instances also.

Like I said, I'm just going to watch and see what happens.

Not to be disrespectful, but I don’t think anyone at the revival is concerned about the people sitting back and watching and waiting to make judgement. Two Saturdays ago these same people were watching tv and hanging out with their friends. Today, they are all together and praising Jesus. My judgement is in and I thank God for what is happening.

It definitely seems to be more of a prolonged praise and worship concert. I've heard they are really only singing. I have seen reports of people leaving closer to God, and making decisions to follow Christ. But no way to verify that.

Mark 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
40 For he that is not against us is on our part.
41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.
Is it a revival? People are coming closer to Christ - they are repenting of their sins - they are experiencing Salvation.

Even if it doesn't line up with our preconceived notions of what revival should look like - God is being glorified, people are being saved. Everything else is personal opinion and .89 and my personal opinion is worth a senior cup of coffee.

Thank God for people hungry for Him and His Presence!

My mentor said more than once - go ahead and catch fire for the things of God, but don't be surprised at those who want to throw cold water on it.

Judgment is a good thing in these instances.

Let's unpack this a little bit, shall we?

Revivals come and go. Some can be good while others can be outright false from satan. You don't know which one it is till a little time has passed. On this site a few years back people were all the rage over Todd Bentley and what was supposedly happening with him,..... then over time he proved himself to be nothing more than a charlatan,.... and it all ended faster than it started.

This site lost a lot of people who dived right into his shenanigans and were snookered by him and others supporting him, while people such as myself and others on here were trying to help them not be. They left because they allowed themselves to be tricked.

Similar things happened with the toronto blessing junk. People were again snookered by the hypnotism being used in those meetings.

So yes, judgment is good with things like this. We who are filled with The Spirit have a gift called discerning of spirits,.... and I'm going to test those spirits every time on something like this,... and if it upsets people,... oh well.

If it is of GOD, fine, but I'm more interested in what is happening in my church, not theirs.

This is my stance on it actually. I'd rather thousands of college kids sing God's praise than the myriad of other things they could be doing. Lord knows us older folks could take a few notes from this and with His blessing, maybe this revival will spread around the world. We need Him!

interesting
Yep.

I would lay money on it being a big time security risk. Anyone could bring a bomb in there and walk out. There's just too many people in our world now who hate Christians, but everything is leading up to the revealing of the anti-Christ.

Yeah, this video below talks about some identified security risk (no details provided). Also the President of Asbury University has stated (in other words) that the students need to be getting back to some sense of normal curriculum.

The professor clarified that he was not calling for an end to the revival, but was rather "marveling" because of "logistical limitations and recognizing the transition that I think is already the leaders' direction. The point is not to shut down outpouring but to decentralize it and keep the focus on students."

Similar movements have reportedly spread to Christian campuses such as Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, and Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
