  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Father in Heaven, Thank You for the gift of faith. There are a great many among us who are new to the faith. Open their hearts and open their understanding, yea, indeed open the hearts and understanding of all the faithful, remove any veils from the mind's eye and give us understanding of Your sacred writings. Pray Ye that all will come to learn from the sufferings of Christ, his death and resurrection, of which we were ignorant, before hearing the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ. God's will be done. In Jesus' name. Amen.

A daily prayer that we would "constantly crave God's Word and have our minds opened to understand it." (1 Peter 2:2, Luke 24:45)

O Lord my God, bring us to meditate on Your sacred writings in the morning, during the day, and at night. Glory to God.

Matthew Henry's commentary on Luke 24:45 says this concerning the death of Jesus: "Luke 23:44-49 We have here the death of Christ magnified by the wonders that attended it, and his death explained by the words with which he breathed out his soul. He was willing to offer himself. Let us seek to glorify God by true repentance and conversion; by protesting against those who crucify the Saviour; by a sober, righteous, and godly life; and by employing our talents in the service of Him who died for us and rose again."

Karthik Nemmani spells "koinonia," in the 18th round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee, earning him the title of champion. It demonstrates the hard work and long hours of practice that he and other young people subject themselves in order to achieve success at this level.

Understanding language, building a better vocabulary, and knowing the rules of grammar are all tools people use to communicate more effectively with one another; and ultimately enabling us a diligent course of study in most subject matters. But keep in mind, God's word was written for all, that we may hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and as newborn babes, crave to know more of His Word, coming to know Him as our savior.

Sometimes we chat with one another about the weather, sports, or the news. While there's nothing wrong with talking about such things, that isn't true fellowship. True Christian fellowship centers on fellowship with God.

May the LORD bless those whom seek the knowledge of His Holy Word, the wisdom and goodness of His Will, and the koinonia with Himself and with other believers. May God bless them and draw them near unto salvation in Christ Jesus our Savior and LORD.

Praise be to God that this year's spelling bee ended with such a word that draws attention to the spiritual fellowship we have with our God and the Body of Christ. Amen.

I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. (John 17:20-26)

How To Study The Psalms: Psalms (v. 1:2) instructs us to meditate on the Psalms, day and night. Some of the psalms are poems, while others are songs or prayers. These types of writings, and styles, don't release their full blessings upon the reader in one single quick reading. It requires we read and reread, many times, over and again. Each new reading rewards the reader with more depth of understanding, or knowledge, and we are more richly blessed in God's wisdom.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. —Psalms 1:2-3 (KJV)
