As a child and now..

Sometimes what we wanted to be as a child differs from what we actually become.

So, what did you want to be when you were a child? And now, as an adult, what are you studying to be?

As A Child: I wanted to be a Veterinarian
As an Adult: I am studying to be a Social Worker

Now: Missionary.

I am completely different from that. I have wanted to be a teacher since grade 2, and am now currently in the process of getting my Behavioural Science Program and then I will go to Education.

As a younger child of about four or five years, I wanted to be an astronaut (which kid doesn't?). By about third grade I wanted to be a scientist. Now as a graduate student I work in astrophysics. Looks like I combined those two things pretty well.

Alas, somewhere along the way I came to faith in the Lord Jesus, and I now count all of these things rubbish for the sake of knowing him. After I finish my PhD (and thus have some marketable skills), I'll most likey go to seminary and work for the church.

As a kid: neurosurgeon/pyrotechnic/rocket scientist/astronaut
Now: aerospace engineering

I guess the last three are kind of conglomerated in the current one...

Well it depends largely on your advisor and the research he gives you. My advisor does some pretty useful stuff.

As a kid: Airshow pilot and school teacher.
Now: Training to become an airshow pilot and getting my teaching certificate. I'm currently working in a middle school as an EA so I'm getting a lot of really great experience.

Now: I'm torn. Lol. I know what I'm getting my degree in, and that's Contemporary Christian Music with emphases in Worship Arts and Recording and production, but I've had some revelations in my life as to what I'm doing with that. I want to do producing, but I seriously want to go into recording now. Not just because I want to be famous, but because I want to love what I do. And I love recording/performing.....but those little doubts...

Now: Absolutely no clue. I'm finishing off a degree in actuarial studies in 2 days but got no direction of what I want to do or where to go in life.

I have a good taste of working in the office/corporate through my part time job and quite sure it's not what I'd like to do for a living in the long term. Personally I don't want to rush into things, but at the same time I need to find something decent so that it doesn't disappoint my parents' expectations.
