  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree with some of your list, but some of the bands you mentioned are NOT retired. MxPx (they have a new album out this summer),The Juliana Theory (touring with Zao), Huntingtons last show has not happened yet. Those are just the ones that caught my eye that aren't actually or officially retired.

The Benjamin Gate

Ben Gate was awesome. They were already split up by the time I started liking them, so I never got a chance to see them live. I'm just glad that Adrienne Camp (lead singer) is putting out a solo album in the not too far future. She's been working on some songs with her husband Jeremy. So with Jeremy and Adrienne Camp working together its's bound to be awesome. The wife of Jeremy's touring drummer said that the songs Adrienne has written so far are awesome. Her stuff is supposed to be similar to "Contact" (for those that know Ben Gate).

Heh Circle of Dust transformed into CellDweller, and it's by far NOT a Xian band. ;P Still great music though and I understand his reasons for his decision and completely agree. The new music talks a lot about it subtly.

The Benjamin Gate is a great one that sadly broke up. :(

Klank is working on a new one from all reports.

Cool. I figured since they had not done anything for a while, they just disappeared and would retire shortly afterword, with little or no public knowledge.

I guess you don't like Bleach, Cuz i think they broke up recently.?
They are not my favorite...but some of their songs are ok.

When did Stavesacre break up?
Maybe they haven't, but like I said, I figured they had just lost popularity and just disappeared.

Circle of Dust's frontman, Klay Scott [Scott Albert, Celldweller, Deathwish, etc., etc.] formed the band, Celldweller. As far as I know, no other CoD band memebers are in Celldweller. Of course there is the tendency use psuedonyms...
Well, its about time Klank released another... :|
I guess this thread should have been titled, "Artists that shouldn't have called it a day or those who should release another album..." :D

Klay pretty much was COD. All he did was hire musicians to play life songs. He did all the writing/recording himself, much like he does now. Can't say I blame him, I find it so much easier to work like that.

This goes waayyyyyyyyy back, but I know of one talented lady who went by the name of Karthi (no, the 'r' is NOT a misprint!) released a self-titled album back in 1993. She posessed a beautiful velvety-smooth singing voice, and inspirational songs set to the catchy dance pop (R&B-style) that was popular back in the early '90s. Not a lot of people are familiar with her. This doesn't really surprise me, because she didn't stay in the Christian music industry very long, that I know of. Now, she seems to have gone into oblivion. I can't even find this album in the search engine, as it continually comes up with "did you mean kathi?" -- that's how rare and obscure it is.

It's so unfortunate that more people don't know about Karthi, because she showed such promise and talent -- perhaps she works as some unidentified background singer with some other group that I'm unaware of. I guess I'll never know....
