I have another series of drawings that represent the story of my life but I can't post it here anymore because of the poorly-censored language. I'm planning on drawing it again and posting it here when I get the time.

its a great image that tells a story of mankinds most basic needs for love, food, shelter and comfort.

Awesome subject to bring up here, as many people blame us for our depression or make us believe it can't be as bad as other people's depression or that they have it so much worse than us.

Don't you often wonder what insults and cruel comparisons were made to Vincent?

Despite inappropriate comparisons to others, he/we can turn something painful into something beautiful.

Many people are ignorant about mental illness, and make statements of cruelty and judgment that they would never say to someone with a different disease or disorder.

It's just so easy to hate on people who have neurological disorders as if this is something we want or Vincent wanted or Bach or Beethoven even or Patty Duke or Abraham Lincoln.

I use a program called Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended. I use it for making photoshops, touching up images, and more recently drawing. For me it's basically the same as drawing on Microsoft Paint except there are extra features such as layers to make drawing much easier.

I could be experimenting with other features more often but so far no one has any complaints with my simple drawings. I got requests via PM and two users have my drawings as signature pictures. I didn't think that people would enjoy them so much.

God gave me this small gift and it looks like it's making people happy. Give Him the glory.

I am very curious as to why you call the character Itzel? If it's not too personal will you tell me how you came about this name and what the character is, an angel or ??? But if it's too personal I understand and respect that.

Itzel being an angel were among her earliest depictions. She didn't become a regular character in my comics until the one where I gave her a spontaneous kiss after watching the news on television. Her role has since then evolved.

I actually have a comic idea of making her an angel again. I intend it to be humorous this time.

Today I remember Vincent Van Gogh as I post about my feeling as if I am needing to silently scream. All the negative voices of others that I've incorporated into my self-talk, that I "hear" all day in my head. All the shaming, all the blaming, all the not being good enough, especially by Christians, especially by my family who believed I was possessed by Lucifer because why else would I think I needed to starve myself? I had anorexia but was put down and ordered to eat all the food on my plate because "just think of all the starving children in Africa."

Please stop

I'm sorry, you have suffered in this way. I am sorry that others (Christians) have caused you pain, anger, and frustration. You are right, so many do not understand. In my feelings, it is not possession, but it is a form of torment because they are tormenting your body and your mind, they can and do oppress people all the time, even to some extent myself.

I do not and am not casting judgment on you or anyone else, but I was sent here to help others and I would love to reach my hand out to each one of you, not in judgment and failure, but in love and wanting to see you guys happy, feeling alive and free from oppression. I am here and I do extend my hand to you and my prayers for you, I understand the despair, I understand the hurt, I understand that it will never seem to leave you alone. I understand so well. Just want you to know I am here and if you feel the need to reach out, please do, I will do my best in Christ and His power to help you, I love your art because it speaks when the heart is faint.

Very touching thread. Thought I'd tell you I love your avatar and I loved this picture. I may have to ask Solomon's Porch about you. She and I are very good friends. If your heart and spirit are as beautiful as some of your posts, then it would be a joy getting to know you.

Darkness, I love more than the day time.....it's quiet and all is peaceful. looking outside to the light of the moon as it shines onto me a peace that the dead and crumbling church body could not provide. I love the night animals too, as they love with a pure love no man can provide

The animals at night that I see are the coyotes, possums, and deer. I have seen what I think is a gray wolf 2 times.

The wolf was so intelligent so majestic.

I stood in awe of him

He looked over at me unafraid

I had utmost respect for him

we looked at each other

for a moment of stillness and assessment

there was no fear ascertained...

and he moved along, wild, free, respected, and left alone to be himself

joy

What I like about the wolf is the way the leader operates his pack. Following this method of leadership has been very useful in my life.
