  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm sorry if a similar thread already exists (feel free to close this one in such case!), I did not have the time to go through ALL 35 pages in search of one!

Are here any art freaks?
I got recently very interested in it. I took a course on art history - the Renaissance period to be exact, and took a trip to Florence where I saw the cupola of La Santa Maria del Fiore (Brunelleschi), works of Leonardo da Vinci, Botticelli, Filippo Lippi, Masaccio and so many others. I was especially taken by Leonardo's "Annunciazione", Filippo Lippi's "La Vergine col Bambino e due angeli" and Botticelli's "La nascita di Venere". All in all, it was a wonderful experience.
I also love Monet, Dalì and Rembrandt.

What about you? Which museums/art galleries have you visited? What has been your greatest art experience?

Feel free to answer:)

I'm a big Art FREAK but I've only been to 2 museums. one in DC and another in NY but it's only cause I'm too young to drive. I can tell you though that I love painting and sketching and love impressionist paintings. especially Renior and Munch.

God Bless,

Oh, I'm very much an art freak. My passion is art and creating art. Some of my favorites are the impressionists. I have a couple of styles that I work with on is clean and crisp and the other is quite similar to Van Gogh. It kind of has a starry night feel to it. I also enjoy high contrast art work from the Baroque period and the Romantic Style.

I'm an all around Art Freak and proud of it.
Peace,

I dont favour any over another, when I look at art, either I like it or I dont, if I like or aprecieate it, I consider it good, if I dont, I think its rubish, It needs to have some effort or something worthwhile to say for me to like it, I dont agree that anyone can be an artist but practice helps improve, it must be challenging to produce or reproduce or else it is just a decoraction of sorts & not worthy art.

I'm an art major in college now. I love painting in particular, but I've just recently discovered it. I'm actually a children's book illustration major. I hope that this career works out for me because I think I would really really enjoy it.

I've been to all sorts of museums, my family travels a lot, but my favorite is probably either the Chicago Art Institute, just because i know it so well, and it's so great, or the National Gallery, which i was at just briefly once, but I loved it.

My favorite artists are Renoir, Rembrandt, and Van Gogh. I love impressionism too. If you want to see my artwork I have my portfolio up on a website - lmarie23.tripod.com. I'm not very good yet but i'm learning ;).

I think it was Van Gogh that painted the same cathedral wall/window/door? 50 times in different light!! wow. I wanna......I wanna......that is why I have red shoes....if I tap my heels together 3 times and say...I wish I was studying art in Europe...I wish I was studying art in Europe...I wish I was........somebody always interrupts before I have said it 3 times.....
