Arianism And The Crucifixion?

I know Arianism denied the Divinity of Christ. But was it Arianism, or another form of false "Christianity" that claimed Christ was able to escape the Cross?

Islam holds that Christ escaped crucifixion. They do venerate Him as a "prophet," and the Qur'an goes so far as to acknowledge that Christ is the "word of God", but they do not believe our Lord was crucified or that He trampled down death by death.

Yeah, Islam thinks Allah saved Christ from death by putting somebody else on the Cross, and made the person he replaced Christ for, appear to the people to look like Christ.

It was my understanding that the whole escaping the Cross heresy stems from a false "Christian" teachings floating around at the time.
