• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are you the same consistent on All Forums / Media that you use ?

I wanted to ask other Christians and even people who are not Christians on this forum if you are the same / consistent with your online persona on All Forums and Media ?

I post here and also on a martial arts / grappling forum.

I don't talk about Christianity as much on that forum because there are some pretty brutal posters and threads that talk about religion or spiritual matters in any form usually get closed or moved. I still talk about Christianity / Theology some times though and try to be cool to everyone.

Years ago I used to post on a bodybuilding forum and I wasn't always consistent or how I should be on there. I don't post there anymore though.

So anyways how about you guys ? Are you the same on other forums and media ?

Yes, I am who I am, authentic. I don't try to sound like who I'm not. My vocabulary is limited due to a reading disability from ADHD. I write how I think and had posts removed because of it. I'm still learning the rules. I agree about discussing Theology and I avoid the "discussions" with lots of pages. Because you'll find trolls in there that love to stir trouble. Peace

I do not know what you mean but I am who I am and that is about it.
Seaman and carpenter now pension not a writer.

I guess what I'm meaning is do you let the environment that you are in and who you are around both in person and online influence the way you are ?

I hope that makes more sense.

This is the only forum I visit. I find it really weird when people try to present themselves differently online. It’s kind creepy actually.

This is the only forum I communicate online. I lurk in others, but don't post.

When I was younger, I used to engage in multiple forums. I really don't think I was any different. I was a Christian then too... I posted about Christianity pretty much anywhere I went. The hatred didn't deter me.

Being on line is a bit spooky, lots of folks who I do not know, never met nor either probably will ever meet.

Which makes me ask myself sometimes, "What the heck am doing here."

Some years ago I was on a ship nostalgia forum, that was more
intressting, met some who I had sailed together with and some who had sailed on the same ships at different times.

Otherwise, among friends a little more relaxed.
