Are you Teachable?

Heard this this morning thought it was great so I took notes to share.

I know I am teachable when:

1. I know I am teachable when I get alot of input. When people tell you stuff (about yourself). If they don't tell you because they are afraid of the reaction, you may not be teachable. Proverbs 12:15 says "The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice."

2. I know I am teachable when I have measurable growth and character development. I am changing. The information I receive is producing results. I don't get defensive when told something. I listen. Proverbs 14:16 says "A wise man is cautious and turns away from evil, But a fool is arrogant and careless."

3. I know I am teachable when I don't have to return the favor. When you can't receive input without saying something back Proverbs 17:10 says "A rebuke goes deeper into one who has understanding Than a hundred blows into a fool"

4. I know I am teachable when I am hearing different things. When you hear the same thing over and over and over you may not be teachable. Otherwise you would be growing in that area and on to the next lesson.

5. I know I am teachable by the things that I do. The answer to foolishness is wisdom. Proverbs 14:8 says "The wisdom of the sensible is to understand his way, But the foolishness of fools is deceit."

So....I ask you....are you teachable?

Amen Great thread ! I have marveled at how the youngest babe in Christ can teach some of the greatest lesson, especially to those of us who are well aged in Christ.

Many times I have had, great lesson on Scriptures that I bearly understood that they have thru God Spirit enlighten me greatly. And many times more they have given me great lesson in what true faith is.
You wanna know what child like faith is, find a new believer in Christ.

You wanna know what child like faith is, find a new believer in Christ.

Do you think I am a new believer? I'm not. I was saved 30 years ago. Not sure if that's what you were referring to

No, although you have taught me much; as will as learning from others on CF. I was replying to other people, none that I know of on this forum. I have met to many people, who think that I'm a walking Bible, and when I try to tell many of them, they have given me a good Bible lesson, they are like no way.

Yeah it's kind of like missionaries. Most missionaries that I have heard speak about the missions they have been on, will say that they went in one way, thinking that they were going to help the people there and in the end, they were blessed more by the people they were sent to help. And by more, I don't mean physically of course. But it grew them spiritually to see the people that needed help so badly but still had such great faith, that it blessed their socks off.
