I do not believe anyone should ever be punished for anything.

However, that does not mean that I think such a person should not be locked up until we can find a way to ensure that they do not do such things.

This is because I do not want to have my children murdered, or indeed the children of others murdered. I do not like it.

In other words, if people do things that I do not like I will try to stop them. One of the best means of stopping them is convincing others to help stop them - a society.

If there is no right and wrong, then there can't be abs. truth, right?

Remember that we are talking about morality here.
There is no right or wrong; hence there is no absolute moral truth.

Yes, people can do what they want and face the consquences of those actions.
