• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Are you doing something right?

What a positively positive question! :) It's so much easier to beat ourselves up as parents and see where we've failed or fallen short than to say 'hey I must be doing something right!'

Well, besides keeping my kids alive and fed and clean (mostly) by the end of the day, I think I've come a long way in parenting since when I first began. I'm taking the style of parenting that I can see is working really well on the heart of one of my kids. Yes, I mess up...I mess up a lot actually. But as a whole, I have found a better way of parenting that I thought I had when I started out and she's blooming and growing because of it.

True enough. I figure there's always enough failure to go around and enough people who remember to keep it top of mind. But learning and growing is not only finding what doesn't work. It's also finding what does work, celebrating and building on that, and being encouraged by the things that are right as well as the end goal.

We are a single income family so my son has been sleeping in a hand-me-down bed for about a year. When we got our tax money I saw a 3' tall loft bed with a slide and immediately thought of my little man. Hubby put it together on Sunday and he has been thanking us and telling everyone - even telemarketers on the phone - about how he has the best parents ever. It made me and hubby feel good that he appreciates the things we do for him. :)

That's great! I love that he appreciates what you've done for him.
