Yes, the heavenly battle says nothing about any other beings other than the angels fighting in heaven.A reasonable expectation, but it tells us nothing in reality. One might assume that they live in the heavenly Jerusalem, waiting to meet us all, but I do not think they will be Star Wars candidates.
Given the vastness of the universe and the number of planets that we have already detected around nearby stars, I regard it as inevitable that we will not only find planets with life but planets with intelligent life.
Actually Christian theology would strongly suggest, imo, that we are the only intelligent (ie more than plants and animals) life in this universe.
Being that the use of science as a philosophers stone has lead to the current events such as denying biological sexual identity. In considering the answer to this question I do not know why you would rely on theology above science. The track record has not been encouraging.
While I am tickled that even after all this time, the thread comes back to life, I am still convicted that we are not the only intelligent beings in the Universe.
So you are saying that if we, as a human race, had passed the temptation without sinning, we would lose our earthly body? How about this? The reason that the shekinah left Adam and Eve was because they sinned and it will be fully restored when we are fully redeemed. It is the body that Yeshua has now.Well here is my reasoning:
The bible teaches that man was created and that he sinned after giving in to Satan's temptation. Man was created in part in order to be tempted and tested as part of the answer to Lucifer/Satan's rebellion.
However God, in his grace and mercy and love, who knew this would happen, made a way for man to be reconciled to Him again. This being by Jesus coming to earth to live a sinless life as a man and to die for our sins.
The bible teaches that a flesh existence is not how we are meant to live, we are meant to have far better bodies (of which Jesus has one now) which are in fact higher than the bodies of angels, therefore, the true place we should be living is in heaven (or the new earth and heaven, yet to come). These bodies also will not die or perish. In short we live in these material bodies while the time of testing and temptation exists.
Now Jesus died for us so we can be saved and be able to attain life in heaven (new earth etc) and have glorified eternal bodies and life. In living on earth and dying he started Christianity and the message of Christianity is preached to this day to mankind.
To be saved you need to hear the message of the Gospel, know who Jesus is , understand the message and accept / believe on him as your Savior.
Now Jesus only died once, he will not die again, He is now seated at Gods right hand (ie in heaven as 2nd in command and even better than he was before his life and death here.)
However he still has the wounds of the nails etc to show he was crucified and he will apparently have these for eternity.
Now, if there were intelligent life comparable to us on other planets, then :
1) if they sinned they have no way to be saved as Jesus will not die again and he did not die for them. It would be like someone saying to us that Gods Son went to live on another planet as some alien and lived a perfect life there and if you believe that he did that then you can share in his salvation, but the story of his life and death be set in alien worlds and cultures etc with not one shred of proof. Yet you'd still be expected to live a moral life because of it and even die because of it.
No religion does that and one should not expect any alien life to understand, believe or accept what they are told about some far of planet called Earth.
In short this position states that any aliens that sin don't have a way to get right with God again AND therefore God would not have created them if he knew He would not be able to save them if they sinned.
2) Further, if the assumption is that there are aliens but they have never sinned, then they would not experience death as God would not let them die, but rather they would already have entered eternity, ie be at least equal to angels and hence not need to dwell in this material universe.
Lastly, the bible says that when Jesus 1000 year reign is over, some time after that the heavens and earth will be rolled up and replaced with new heavens and earth. This is saying that this universe exists as long as Gods plan for man is in operation, once the fullness of salvation has come to mankind, then this universe is replaced with the eternal heavenly universe and creation.
It is broadly due to this line of reasoning that i say that as a Christian, my theology leads me to conclude that there is no other comparable intelligent carbon based mortal life anywhere else in this universe, other than possibly plant and animal life.

You missed the point. It is the same fleshy body with shekinah glory that Yeshua has. Its capabilities is more than we use now. Like they say, we only use 10% of our brain power now.Yes, exactly, and Jesus has a body that does not need the environment of this universe to exist.
If Adam had not sinned, they would have eaten of the tree of life and not tasted death.
Maybe they could still reproduce, and with no one dying and women having multiple babies, there would have been orders of magnitude billions more people already and God may well have called time and everyone taken to the new heaven and earth.
But then again, Maybe God did not have to cater for that scenario, because He knew Adam would sin (because He can see the future, not because He caused Adam to sin in any way).
evidence??Actually Christian theology would strongly suggest, imo, that we are the only intelligent (ie more than plants and animals) life in this universe.
Saying that, leaves open the possibility that some planets may be even better than earth. The real question is "can any society as technologically advanced as ours survive its own mistakes?"

It's also been a while since I found some credible information on this topic so I might get some exact dating wrong. While I am tickled that even after all this time, the thread comes back to life, I am still convicted that we are not the only intelligent beings in the Universe.

It's a theological topic that has popped up now and then in the course of history by leading Christian thinkers. There is documentation as early as the 12th century about the ability of God to create other worlds within Christianity. Which is somewhat late to the game seeing the Greeks had writings about the topic as far back as the 6th century BC.
One period of time when it was used against Christ was popularized in the 19th century when non-Christians would argue that because the universe is infinite, Jesus would have to die for many worlds over and over again to the point that He wouldn't have time to do anything else. Which back then was quashed by pointing out that having other worlds doesn't necessitate that they have a need for salvation to begin with. Basically that their Adam and Eve chose from the right tree of life instead.
That's about all that comes to memory but if you look deep enough you may find more information.
There is no other intelligent life in this universe!!
Being this certain males it very difficult to admit when you are wrong. Even the pope has this problem.
Transformed true... but you have no idea what our bodies are capable and it doesn't have to dematerialize to go through walls. It is between all atoms there is space to pass each other. What is wrong with God providing the space, shield or powers.Ha Ha Ha!
Jesus had a completely different body after his resurrection, it had been transformed.
It could materialize and dematerialize at will, it could pass through walls, it could eat (and presumable not have to go to the toilet ever).
It could probably survive in space (unless you think Jesus would suffocate or explode in a vacuum).
It was not the same body, not made of the same stuff or with the same properties, it had been transformed to the new bodies Christians will all have one day.
What you propose is that God acts as a kind of 'shield' or 'space suit'. I don't buy that at all. Everything our new bodies will be able to do will be because of their inherent properties.
There is no property of my body that could survive space, but my new body will be able to survive space.
There is no property of my body that can pass through walls, but my new body will be able to.
