In Chinese traditional beliefs, territorial spirits or localized spiritual entities are deeply rooted in folklore, Taoism, Buddhism, and Feng Shui traditions. While these beliefs are not explicitly about "demons" in the Western or biblical sense, they do involve spirits or supernatural beings associated with specific places, such as villages, mountains, rivers, or households.

Were there demons that act in a specific geographic area according to the Bible?

Daniel mentioned a spiritual warfare in chapter 10:

12 He said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. 13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia.
Good angels fought against bad angels on the territory of Persia.

There was some truth to the proposition that evil spirits were attached to certain geographical locations. However, I would avoid excessive fascination with that. The central truth is that Jesus Christ has all authority in heaven and on earth (Mt 28:18), and his victory over sin, death, and demonic powers is complete. As believers, we are called to walk in his authority, proclaim the gospel, and resist the devil, trusting in the power of God to overcome all spiritual opposition wherever they are.

Also, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Eph 6

The Bible passage in Daniel 10:13 seems to confirm the existence of territorial spirits. The "prince of Persia" is a spirit that rules over the kingdom of Persia, and after Persia's downfall, the "prince of Greece" takes HIS place. This suggests that each empire had a governing spirit, implying a hierarchical structure where less powerful spirits oversee smaller territories.

This idea is also hinted at in Deuteronomy 32:8, which says that GOD "divided the earth according to the number of the sons of GOD".

The verse above implies that GOD assigned certain territories to be overseen by spiritual beings (sons of GOD), which are likely the same type of territorial spirits mentioned in Daniel 10:13. This supports the belief that every country, city, or region has a spirit being ruling over it, and that these spirits are part of a larger governance structure established by GOD ALMIGHTY.

Grettings again Tony. Hard at work seeking God's truth again, I see. Awesome!

As you probably already know. My contention is that "angels" (fallen) and "demons" and "evil sprits" are synonymously used in the Bible.

angels = spirits (Heb 1:13-14, Psa 104:4, Num 27:16)
Satan (angel) = spirit (Eph 2:2)
Satan (angel) = demon (Matt 12:24-26)
demons = spirits (Luke 10:17-20, Matt 8:16, Luke 9:39-42)
angels = demons & spirits

So I am viewing this question through the lens that "demons" means fallen angels that have been thrown to earth by Satan (Rev 12:4). These fallen angels (also referred to as demons or evil spirits) stay in their "proper abode" (Jude 1:6b) but are not in their "proper domain" (Jude 1:6a).

I set this stage to then comment on the question of whether "demons act in a specific geographic area according to the Bible?" Based on my foundation I laid above, it would seem reasonable to say that these "demons" are not assigned any geographical domain by God because they by definition have abandoned their "proper domain" (2Pet 2:4a) that God had assigned them.

That being said, it seems to me that there is a tendency or consistent pattern of behavior for some of these fallen angels here on earth. Without rewriting my entire essay in this post ...
"Within the surrounding cultures, which infiltrated into the Hebrews belief system of many Jews, these foreign deities (the śəʿîrim) are said to have haunted ruins, along with lîlîṯ (Isa 13:21, 34:14). Another foreign deity, lîlîṯ (Isa 34:14), was a foreign god with the “name of a female goddess known as a night demon who haunts the desolate places of Edom” The different translations of Isaah 13:21 for lîlîṯ include “night bird” (ESV, NASB) “night creature” (NKJV) or “screech owl” (KJV) instead if the name lîlîṯ."
The Jewish people believed that in every idol worship there was a demon (fallen angel) behind that idol. So in the example of lîlîṯ (above), we are given information that tells us that this particular foreign deity had preferences of location, how seen, and pattern of behavior.

So it might be the case that fallen angels (also called demons or evil spirits) have a tendency to "act in a specific geographic area" (as seen with lîlîṯ ).

Just speculating now. Maybe since God created them to have a domain, fallen angels gravitate toward having their own chosen domain here on earth. Just not the one God ordained them to have.

Peace to you brother
