  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

From what I heard the bible supports both of them, both all sins are equal exepet blaphesmy and all sins are not equal. "All sins are equal from God's Eyes" does that mean that all sins are equal?

Its like comparing incest/murder to a sin like lying/cheating/swearing. Do you believe all sins are equal? People say that "All sins are equal, a sin is a sin" from the last thread I created but when I researched about it again this thread that all sins arent equal.

What do you think?

Sins are equal except in terms of consequences. To sin sexually is to sin "against ones own body". Every other sin is outside the body (1Cor6:18). I take that to mean sexual sins cause more trouble for the people that commit them than any other sin. Not that God punishes them more, but by the very nature of the way our bodies are designed.

This is not a simple Yes or No answer. If we look in the gospel we see that Jesus never answers in Yes or No. That being said, he did say "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:28 (NIV)

Nah, there is an option for "No, sins are not equal" and "Yes, all sins are equal except blasphemy". I don't believe that sin exists, therefore I cannot participate in the poll because there is no neutral position.

Thank you for your, uuhhhh, $0.02.

All sin is equal in the end result but different sins have varying degrees of consequences. For instance, swearing because you dropped a plate has a much less severe consequence on your life than say murdering someone.
