• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello Everyone!

The Friendship Team would like to extend an apology for our part in the recent conflicts here on this forum. Many people were feeling like we simply didn't care, but I want to assure you that this is not the case. We do care, very much.

We really have no excuse. But we do have a few reasons. We have recently undergone staffing changes from the top to the bottom, and while everyone was getting used to their new duties, reports fell through the cracks. Also, since the Military Forum was only added under our jurisdiction a couple of months ago, we were unsure of what protocols to use and how to best apply the rules. Our goal is to be fair and equitable, but also just and protective of our members. We have failed you in this lately.

We are now getting things straightened out and you will hopefully see positive changes. We are striving to keep a greater mod presence, and a fast action policy regarding bad posts.

What can you do to help? One, use your report button. Tell us if there is a post we have missed. Two, do not reply to bad posts. This only compounds the problem and makes a mess even bigger.

If you like to debate about military-based subjects, do not post your arguments here. Please find a more appropriate forum, such as those in debate and discussion areas. If you post argumentative and hurtful posts here, they will be removed.

Please know that we are all here for you, and we want to make this and all our forums to be pleasant, informative and fun. We have come up short as late, and we hope you can forgive us and work together with us to maintain the harmony here.

As for me, I am blessed to work with this team of Moderators. The Friendship Team are kind to each other and to members, and each one is a wise, creative, and hard-working staff member. I hope you can join me in support of them and all the daily jobs they do for the CF membership.

I, for one, would like to thank you for this post. I have been mostly lurking for quite some time here. I used to be a very active member. I loved that this military forum was a place I could come for support and cameraderie.

It became painful to see it change. I am glad to see things will go back to how it was (I hope) , and I appreciate your efforts in ensuring that it does.

 Hey guys, I'm a soon-to-be US Marine!

If we can't debate MILITARY topics in the MILITARY forum, then where can we debate them?
From the sticky just two below on the purpose of the forum:

Hello and welcome to the Military forum!

This is a forum designed mainly for Military and their Spouses, yet we do welcome others to discuss information and fellowship with those defending our great nations.

Please note that any discussion of justification of military actions/ political aspects of military actions are to be done in the Political forums and discussion of the Christian ethic of military service/action should be discussed in General Theology or Congregational forum.

There are various debate forums that you can debate military issues. Specifically I would suggest that you post in the political debate forum.

I know the Friendship Team wants this forum to be a safe-haven for those serving. They shouldn't have to fight with other military people or civilians about military actions. :)

Seein's how staff is changing with some moving off staff and others moving up from Mod to admin, who will be the main folks working with the miltiary section here as Mods/Supers/Admin, etc?

I know what the section on CF staff appointments sais as in who all is on the Friendship Team but am curious who will be mostly the ones dealing with this section?

That was my thought, I tried to move debate topics to the politics forum and they got deleted just the same and the mods here said oh well thats another forum and we dont know. So it seems to me there is no where to debate military topics. Maybe there should be a debate branch in the military section.
