  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Anyong! That's basically hello in Korean. My name is Jin, and I'm new to the Christian faith.

A little about myself. I come from a very progressive and diverse family. Both my older sister and I were fathered by the same sperm donor who is our close family friend. Both my mothers are very loving strong women. My birth mother is Korean and my other mother is of Russian descent.

Through my dad I have various half brothers and sisters. To be honest I hate saying the word "half" when referring to my various siblings. It just doesn't feel right to me for some reason.

Anyway I was introduced to Christianity by close friends who attend a Korean Baptist Church near my home. I was invited to go and felt happy singing and praying with people who I'm not only close friends with, but share a similar heritage with.
It felt magical just being there. I have never felt anything like this before. I gave myself to Christ in that church in both English and Korean. Doing everything I can to set myself right in this world. Christianity has made me into a better person, and I love it!

welcome to CF Jin, that is a great intro. Korea is not a big country, divided by two, constantly threated by war, yet it is starting to surpass Japan on electronics, auto and other manufacturers. Ots entertainment industry also are starting to surpass both Japan and China! I believe in large part it is due to the spread of Christianity in Korea.

To be honest I wouldn't know much about any economy, and what's stronger or whatever. I understand enough the global economy changes, but not enough to understand it.

My dad is a businessman and he has traveled to South Korea numerous times. I always enjoyed going there with him and my sister, because it feels like I'm getting in touch with Korean roots.

Today in South Korea there are a good amount of Koreans who identify as Christian. I like them and glad they respect me and my family.
