I read an article that Clomid is much more effective then Metformin in PCOS cases, so that is what I think that I'm going to try.

If you have any questions about PCOS feel free to ask in here or pm me. Having PCOS can make a person feel very alone sometimes.

I'm taking vitex until i get to the point that i should take clomid, so i'm hoping that it will work and i'll be able to work this one out naturally. However if thats not to be I can only trust that God has His plan.

What have u been thru with PCOS? I've not really got symptoms other than long irregular periods. I shouldnt have said i've been diagnosed with PCOS altho the Dr did imply that, i think i'm sposed to go for a scan first to make sure.

xx

Could regulating my blood sugar through diet and natural means help with PCOS?

Definately. Most people do a low-carb diet or count calories. My sugars were so high that diet alone would not bring them down to a normal level.

You should definately get tested for PCOS.

My symptoms are really long, irregular cycles. I get some acne but it's not to the degree that I have seen some women with PCOS. I'm pretty lucky that I don't have more symptoms. A girl at work thought that she had it and we were talking she told me I should get tested so I did and I ended up having it and she didn't. I got my offical diagnosis on Nov 1, 2006. I'm hoping that I won't have to wait another two months to be put on Clomid.

I meant to post here the other day and i forgot sorry!!

I just wanted to let you know about a drug called metformin, this is what my friend who had PCOS took after she tried Clomid and iui and she didn't get pg until her 2nd cycle on metformin.

My aunt is a GP and she prescribed metformin for her 3 patients all who had PCOS and they all got pg.

CLomid helps you to ovulate, but metformin is used to balance insulin levels in the body, it can help you lose weight and get a balance back in your body so that it functions itself. Sometimes people are prescribed both clomid and metformin together. Metformin is also used with people who have proper diabetes.
Metformin can have side effects (just like clomid) but met maybe upsets your tummy a bit. I asked about this to my friend and she said she was only a little ill in the 1st month of trying it. It's not the most powerful drug either.

I've decided to ask for metformin (depending on my proper diagnosis if i've Definitely got PCOS) first before trying clomid.
