  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anyone use a Wii for exercising?

Wii Fit is garbage for exercise. There is no cardio aspect to it that's really meaningful, the strength training is a joke... It's worthless for exercise.

Strictly for fun, it's great. Especially when there are witnesses. Doubly so if alcohol is involved. Actually, I found the Wii's fun factor is greatly improved in pretty mjuch all cases when alcohol is involved...

Anyway, Wii Active is OK. Not great but OK. The one I found to be really the best was the Wii My Fitness Coach. That thing kicked my butt. The DS version is junk... But the Wii version, holy cow.

Funny you should say that bc thats what I got! lol. It was the cheapest of the lot as well. Well, the version i have is the 'cardio workout' one. But its mostly boxing training. I agree tho. this one's pretty good. I just ordered the original My Fitness Coach, eagerly awaiting its arrival.

Now, I went a did a search for the negative reviews and didnt find much. What I did read that was negative wasnt that bad. Tbh, its more like an interactive workout dvd. I used to exercise to dvd's, I like that kind of workout, and this is not much different, just interactive.

I dont know what the fuss is about where the negative reviews is concerned. I think its pretty good actually.

Oh the original far exceeds the sequel in every way, but the sequel is more beginner than the original. I don't mean that in a bad way or as a put down towards you or the game, so please don't take it that way (I said the same thing to another person elsewhere and they got offended). If I were to make a suggestion to you it would be to get really familiar with the sequel, how it works, how the exercises work, the flow of it, then slowly transition into the original, because it will kick your tush.

Just as a point of reference, the original is the one I have and I rented the sequel... I am by now means a cardio or exercise expert, but I'm not a DVD exercise noob either, and the original took awhile to get myself used to using, whereas the sequel I really just fell into it quite easily. A lot of people complained that the original was too hard to use and they made a lot of changes for the sequel so that it was just generally easier to use and follow... So while I think the sequel is far more user-friendly, I think the original, hands down, is the better one for exercise and fitness.

The music stinks on both though. Thank goodness for the SD slot.

The one for the DS though, like I said... Worthless trash. There are some things I like and don't like when I buy a game, some games I like more or less than others. The My Fitness Coach for the DS is the first and only game I truly regret getting. Even the pedometer is garbage. I got a pedometer from the dollar store that works better than that one, no lie. Do not waste your time, money, or effort.

Well, we're still going. I got the game Cardio Fitness Coach (I think its Gold's Gym in the states). I like it. It does get repetative but its there and because its 'there' I tend not to sit on my butt watching tv when I dont have anything else to do, I do my exercises. Im looking forward to getting Wii fit and the balance board. The yoga gets boring with this one but it looks more interesting and personalised with the wii fit.
