Does anyone listen to Pain of Salvation? They are an amazing progressive rock band from Sweden. Their music is very powerful, touching, and emotional, with all the prog elements of skill, themes, keyboards, etc.

I've been addicted to them for over a year now, have all their cd's, and just cannot stop listening to them!

Some of my favorite songs are:

Waking every god
Used
A Trace of Blood
New Years Eve
Foreword

Excellent band. Daniel Gildenow is one very talented musician/songwriter/lyricist. I own all of their albums as well.

I'm rather fond of the song "Rope Ends" from Remedy Lane.

The concept album about earth and God ("Be") was very interesting, to hear all those messages people left for God on the answering machine.

From your name can I assume you're also a fan of Symphony X? ;)

The only Pain of Salvation album I've managed to get hold of is the Perfect Element (although I do have MP3s of songs from other albums). They're a pretty good band, although there are other bands who I like more.

I have some of their music based off of a recomendation, but I have no idea where to start lisening to them.

I think the album "Remedy Lane" (consequently my favorite album) is a good place to start. I think "Be" is a bit too intense for a first listen. You shouldn't listen to it until you've gotten used to their style. After you've listen to a few different albums (I'd reccomend Perfect Element after Remedy Lane), definitely check out their acoustic album 12:5. It's breathtaking that they can perform at such a level live, acoustically. It's mindblowing. Hope that helps? :)

yes, I like Symphony X as well!

remedy lane is amazing, it's probably the most intense album they've made.

I'd recommend getting the Perfect Element pt. 1 first, at least that's what I got, it got me immediately HOOKED! I still can't let these guys go.
