  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You will be downloading the amp, and the amp will heat up too quickly. You'll end up frying the amplifier if you push it too much, as it will be seeing an impedance that is too low for the amplifier to handle, closer to a dead short on heavier bass notes.

My advice would be to not do it.

Any soundcard can be connected to an amplifier with an adapter. The adapter will have a male stereo plug on one end and two female RCA jacks on the other. Soundcard output->adapter->RCA cable->amplifier input. Then, assuming the amplifier has outputs for two sets of speakers (A and B), you can have four speakers running simultaneously. Of course if you have a fancy soundcard with digital output then you just need a digital receiver and no adapter.

Those adapters are about $5 at Radio Shack.

Do not try to wire extra speakers through a 'mini system' unless it is already set up for A and B speakers *AND* the impedence rating for all the speakers is within the system's specs. Even then you'll probably just destroy the system.

You probably need a real amplifier/receiver. They're cheap on Ebay.

im using my mobo's onboard sound, & i find no trouble putting 2 subwoofers (25 watts RMS) & 6 satellites speakers on it... while it is true that you only got one speaker output port, what i did is place 1 adaptor, a 1 male to 2 female adaptors, and there you are, you got 2 ports for speaker "outs"... each speaker output being connected to subwoofer:)... my system havent been broken so far

just used software (winamp3 + dfx) to beef up the sound... and i got a full working cinema surround sound system...
