  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Foil backed paper works pretty well. I think that wed folding works the best though. This is where you lightly mist the paper with water and quickly fold the model before it dries, when it dries it dries with all the creases and folds in place and doesn't have the tendency to unfold.

I have some papers and an origami book, but have not tried this yet. It seems something always gets in the way of any hobby I start. ;) Someday I will, though. There are some fascinating pieces of origami given to me, and I cherish those. They sit in my china hutch on display.

You should definately give it a try. It can be frusturating at first as sometimes the models don't turn out "right" or you get stuck. But stick with it and you'll be rewarded for the rest of your life.

Check out this site for some really awesome models for a little inspiration.

My family has done many things in origami, including a nativity set! It's packed away or I would try to borrow a camera and post it. It is well worn and loved by now!!! My son has been very creative and doien of the more complicated items and then threw them away :( when he went to college!
