Anyone into online FPS?

i pity anyone who tries to play BF on dialup :s even with adsl i still get 90+ ping on BF servers, as opposed to 30-50 i get on other games. I was really dissapointed by Far Cry multiplayer though, it was laggy as hell when i played it, and the maps were just so biased towards snipers and camping.

Its amazing I could have gotten out of Berkeley. I may as well have majored in CS (Counterstrike, NOT comp sci). I did Q3 for a while, but CS completely blew me away. Havent played much else other than that.

Ah, I forgot to add

My roommate was into Day of defeat and Tf also for CS. I cant wait for HL2 to come out.

Erm you know they are HL mods and not CS mods right?

I love the way CS has become more well known than HL, the game it was modded for

I used to be a hard core Quake 3 player(and i was good too, and have the screenies to prove it. if i had 100 posts i'd show em to ya). I would build my PC around that game and maximized every aspect of it's performance to the point that ...well it became a little ridiculous. plus my wife hated it, there are a few satanic symbols spread around the levels. i had the game so tweaked that you couldn't see them but the idea that they were there bothered her, so i quit playing it.

no other fps has lived up to that title for me, and i've tried them all except tribes, so i don't play any games right now. maybe when HL2 comes out.

No, it's easy. Just like other FPS games when it comes to movement. Except you can't run or bunny hop forever.

Too bad theres no vehicles or singleplayer options.

Vehicles are coming sometime, maybe sooner, maybe later. No tanks or vehicles like that, though. It's an infantry sim.
They are working on bot AI now, so that will improve eventually.

online play is where its at, why bother working on bot AI? why would anyone play against bots when they can play against real people?

saw an amazing thing the other day, a guy played and finished Doom 2 on the hardest setting in 18 minutes. lol, it was hectic, must have practiced it for a loooong time.

I love FPS!

Last year I was one of the best in the world, at 3 different FPS on xbox live.
And as far as running a team on FPS, I am the best in the world!

I'm also the most humble person in the world, can't you tell.

console player are you? I used to "hack" into sega only servers for a little relaxation KWIM.

Is that a problem with Xbox or other consoles in fps, or is it a fairly even playing field now?(other than connection speed)

I have seen some incredible people play Quake 3 on Sega, maybe that was you???

Xbox is awesome, I never came across anyone that wasn't just a touch faster than me at best, on the draw.
Thats whats so great about xbox, everything is on a level playing field. No moded boxes, no mouse, no cheat codes.

I used to play a lot of online FPS, but I kept comparing them, and finding the shortcomings to UT2004. Now that I started a clan, we are amazed as to the depth of the game, and the amazing tweaking skills and strategies involved.

Unless you want to be a struggleing newb during the biggest FPS experience of all time, you better go get the system right now, and get use to those controls.

This game is going to be the most successful console online game ever.
This is based on several reasons.
1. Do you have any idea how many lan partys there still are in the world?
The game system is cheap and mobile. At that range Halo is the best lan game for the past 3 years. And for the price of just one computer, you could have 16 church youth group kids playing Halo.
2. There are more churchs than there are mcdonalds, burger kings, wendys, and every single resturant that serves any kind of food.

4. In two years every next generation console will be out. Everyone is swinging hard, so there will be alot of games out online, like fighting games.
So that means that much more games to play. But Halo2 is the strongest online console for the next 2 years.

Are some of the verses in their bibles blackened out?

My church plays parts of movies, that fits the sermon. One scene was from the Matrix, the "I know kung fu........show me.......wha cha wham, smash"
My church is hands down the most magnified I have seen God.
