So am I, but before we get into any sort of discussion it's probably best to state what kinds of metal you're into. For me it's traditional, prog and power metal - in particular nothing with growling vocals (which I don't like).

Mike Portnoy (Drummer) and Jordan Ruddess (Keyboardist) are both non-practicing Jews. John Petrucci (Guitarist) is Catholic, though I don't think he is practicing. James LaBrie (singer) hasn't really espoused any religious beliefs, and John Myung (bassist) hasn't said much about Faith either.

They do have a few religious allusions in some of their songs (Voices, In the Name of God, etc.) but many times those allusions tend to be more observational or critical in nature.

But they are definitely not a religious-oriented band.
