I don't think we should think of any foods as definite don'ts--just things we should have on occasion and not everyday. Crossing out foods we love from our diet can only make us want that forbidden fruit more. I say that, as I try to wean myself from soft drinks! :) Moderation in all things. Stephen1964: I love ice cream too--so much that I hate it when we buy it for home, because then I have some everyday. I just try not to buy it and bring it home--that way the only way I can have any is to go out and buy a single serving (and sometimes that's too much trouble). Maybe you could try that--or try substituting sherbert/sorbet/frozen yogurt for ice cream. That's a little better for you! I'm trying not to think of my goal of being healthy as something where I'm cutting out things--instead I try to think of adding healthy things. Like--I will add more fresh veggies to my meals, or I will drink more water, I will add exercise to my day. That gives me a positive feeling, and the things I add push out the less healthy things in my lifestyle. BTW, I had plenty of veggies last night and today for lunch. As of now, I have had 4 servings of fruit/veggies for today! And supper's still to come--which, by the look of the pantry, will be veggie soup. --tibac
