Hmmm... I figured this would be the place to post this topic, so yeah. Is anyone here in a band? If so...

What's the band's name?
What instrument do you play, or do you sing?
What kind of music do you play?

That kinda stuff. Me and my friends have a band... everyone in the band is Christian, but we play secular music.

Music style: Hard/Alternative/Punk/Goth Rock. Yeah, we're varied. @_@

I'm not currently in a band, but may be trying out for my cousin's as soon as he gets out of jail... that probably sounds sick...

Anyway, he's looking for an acoustic guitarist and back up singer. The band's called "Unforsaken" and consists of two acoustic guitars, a keyboard, and drummer... the music style is currently punk/goth hard rock, but he is considering to turn it into a more alternative sound, which only on that ground will I try out for it. My music tastes are very old for my age, and I'm very anti punk, and goth.

i'm in a band... my friend and i started it while in Russia. although we have no band name. currently have written around 20 songs and kinda put together an album.. called "Through Him"... we are both christians.. most of our lyrics are christian-like as well... we both played guitars/drums/and sang. usually when we both played guitars we would ask some to play drums for us... our style was. Hard/Metal, Hip-Hop, Hard/Rock, Punk and alternative.. he was into Rap/hip-hop at the time.. so we'd mix them all the styles together.. it was fun

Well I'm the guitarist for a person in my church, no band name, I just play stuff she tells me to play or stuff we work on. The general focus is Jazz/Funk/Rock.

I also play for the church band and youth band

And am planning to start a band with the drummer from the church and youth band. That'd mainly be Rock/Acoustic Rock sorta stuff.

I'm in a band... we play on wednesday nights for out youth program but right now we had a few band members leave so we are not doing the whole "band" thing right now. But I play lead guitar, sometimes rythem.

I've been playing guitar and mandolin in bands since I was a teenager. My last band was the Faded Lovers and we were kind of an alt.country/American band but, really, we did just about anything.

That's been over for about a year and a half but I think all but one of us are going to get back together this spring.

I may be opening a show for Steve Forbert in a couple of weeks.

I'm in a band, we're called non-edible, crazy name, I know, but it's still fun, we've only been together for a few months, but we've got a couple songs pretty well down to the basic fine tuning, and about 4-5 more that we've written that still need a lot of work, I play bass, and eventually, I hope to start singing some back up vocals, we just haven't had the mics for it yet.

I play keyboards, and sing in our band, It is called JC Witness Band. We play comtemporary christian praise and worship. Our band is also the praise and worship band at church. I guess you would call us a pretty rockin church. But hey it is all for God. You know he was the inventor of everything and it was satan who stole music from the christians so i think it is time we took back that music and use if for what it was meant to be used for.....Worship and Praise God.

I'm in the 6th grade middle school band thats probably not the kinda band your looking for but I play the Snare,Bass,and symbol and Basically any other kinda percussion instrument you you can think of except the Drumset and the Bongos.

Good topic here. I'm new to the forum. I am a college freshman. I currently play in a Christian praise band at my youth group. We don't have a name but we do acoustic worship for them. I play keyboards in the band. It seems like my youth group really enjoys us and I'm very happy to be in the band. In the past I've been in 2 other christian bands. In my jr year of high school I played with a band named Strangley Normal. Unlike the band I currently play in, we had a drummer, electric guitarist and the whole bit. I played bass guitar in that band. We were also a worship band and we quit a year after we started because most of the band members were going off to college. Before we quit, we played at a pretty decent gig and we were cd recorded and everything. Later in my sr year of high school we aquired new band members and renamed ourselves Shameless Truth. The band configuration stayed the same pretty much. I moved from playing bass to keyboards. Playing keyboards was a much richer experience for me. We didn't get an opportunity to cut a cd but we did play in church quite often as with my old band Strangley Normal. I quit that band after I started college in the fall. I had mentioned that I was in a band currently. I joined that band after I quit my old youth group and started a new youth group that allowed older people to be in it. This band that I am playing in currently is from a new church. The church doesn't have enough money for a church building yet so church is being held in a high school gymnasium and youth group is in the pastor's basement. I hope we eventually get a new building so our band can expand to a full band. I'm really excited for this to happen but as you can see I'm really involved. I've enjoyed every minute of it. It was nice hearing all the different generes of music you guys play that's fantastic.

I'm in a band named "Cousin Pete." I play lead guitar although occasionally me and the rythm guy switch. We play all sorts of stuff - from Phish and Grateful Dead covers to Pachelbel's Canon in D. We also have 4 original songs that we wrote. We have 4 people - lead and rhythm guitar, bass, and bongos. We often jam the hell out of songs, we'll take a 5 minute song and play it for 15 or 20 mins, adding variations to the melody, changing time and effects. We also like to go from one song into another, if we're in a jam, and I (its usually me since I am lead) stumble across a melody I will emphasize certain notes so the other band members catch on, and eventually everyone will come around and we'll progress into the new song. I can't sing for my life so the singing duties go to the rhythm guitar and bongo player.

yea, i play drums and sing in a teenage band, called On Our Knees. we've been at it for bout a year now. play mostly rock, and praise and worship. we have written bout 4 songs, but we are still learning an growin. it's loads of fun. play mostly for youth group, fca, and churches.
