• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Liver Cancer which originated in my Colon. Im on my 4th Chemo treatment as I write this and the latest report is that the Chemo is really doing the trick for which I thank God for. Its been a real rollercoaster ride with such a life threatening disease ; I always thought it was for other people till I was diagnosed with it on 6-4-15 . It has made me a much more humble Individual , brought me closer to The Lord via submission, worship, trusting, and having faith in his sovereignty and love for me. My outlook on life in general has changed a lot . It has been a blessing of sorts because Ive really come to make peace with dying should it occur plus I have great confidence in knowing im going to heaven , and because of whom . It has been a very sobering time in my life and ive learned so much about myself, about God, and the love shown from Friends.

How about you.....if you have Cancer , how are you doing with it and what have you learned thru the whole ordeal ? Thanks for sharing. Dave.

Hi Dave
Your thread caught my eye...my hubby was diagnosed in 2013 with stage 2 colon cancer.
It had gone through the colon wall, but the nodes were negative and surrounding organs looked ok.
They did a colectomy and he is now on the yearly scopes during the five year watch.
Aside from a daily morning bout of loose stools, he feels fine.
Admittedly, it is always in the back of our minds, and any time something 'new' occurs we wonder if it is related.

May I ask how old you are?
Hubby is 63.

It sounds like you have been through the mill this past month!
How soon after surgery did you start chemo?

Yup, it sure is a reality check; thank God for our faith!

Be assured you will be in my prayers for your strength, hope, comfort and peace as you continue your healing journey.
May God bless you in His Merciful Love :crossrc:

Thanks for your prayers..ill lift up your husband. Im 61. The F-5U chemo regimen is working out well for me as of late....it includes 3 different chemo bags intravenously every other Wednesday . Has diminished the Liver cancer a lot . Still have the colon mass and they will surgically remove it once ive complete my scheduled 12 chemo treatments cause it may shrink the colon mass too.

I found out I had cancer of the colon following a normal CT Scan for why I was loosing some blood out the rectum. Then they discovered the LIver too.

The biggest benefit from all of this is that ive been drawn closer to The Lord in trust, dependence, worship, praise and have a renewed expectation of living in eternity with him and all my friends whove gone on before . The purpose of this brief earthly life is to look forward to eternity, for, God has put eternity into the hearts of all men/women.

Regards, David. Florida.

Ah....because of the other masses they are doing chemo on you first.

Hubby had abnormal labs showing some bleeding (anemic) and the colonoscopy was their first look.

Praise God for His graces in your life; this is the JOURNEY and Heaven is HOME!

Thanks for your prayers...we'll be praying for your healing....and that you have minimal adverse effects from the chemo; let us know how it's going!

God bless

Hi Dave, I'm sorry about your DX but will pray for you. I pray that your chemo will be manageable and you will have minimal side-effects.

I just started a new treatment, not chemo. I've had one so far and have another tomorrow, so far it is going well.

Hang in there. I keep reminding myself that God is in control.

God Bless
