I heard them in HMV recently and was blown away by their sound. Nice bit of power metal but with Maiden-esque lyrics and singing. Got Valley of the Damned which is a great album and strangely uplifting.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I actually do, however I never listen to powermetal, Dragonforce is one of those bands that is SOO cheesy that it's occasionally fun to listen to! I like their speed, however they can't play a good emotional solo, they never slow down.

Cheesy? Hmmm....I dunno if I'd describe them as cheesy...certainly not 'metal' in the strictest sense of the words. I think musically they're good...it's just the Miaden lyrics. I really don't like Maiden for the cringeworthyness of their lyrics.

Hmm, interesting you would not describe them as cheesy, for they are one of the cheesiest of an already cheesy genre (powermetal), together with bands like Rhapsody, Dream Evil, Edguy etc. etc. It's more like common metalsense that if something is powermetal, then it can in a lot of cases already be labeled as cheesy, and if it's happy, fast, and has vocals that remind of yelling Japanese schoolgirls, then you have a cheesy band. Dragonforce meets upto all requirements. (Just the name should tell enough by the way).
