Anyone good with web design?

I need a website for my ministry, but I don't have the first idea of how to get one going. I have a domain name registered www.breadforthebrain.org, and for a year I put up with the limitations of register.com's webhosting. But now that that has expired, I'm ready to do a real website. Does anyone know how to do this?

I have a background in web development. Certainly not the strongest, especially when dealing with databases. I'm willing to do what I can to help though.
