  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there-
so recently in the midst of all the craziness of high school, I feel as if i've lost a lot of my faith in god. And I really have no clue how to bring that back. I have asked him to help me gain it back, but still i feel unconnected. Has anyone else been through this/ know how to help?

Thanks so much. God Bless.

Matthew 7:7,8 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

If you want to find God, keep going after him! Read His Word, keep praying, listen to others talk about Him, anything that you can do to understand what He has told us. Personally, the prophecies in Daniel 2, 7, 8, and 9 helped me to believe that God exists and that his Word is true. If you need links to some good online studies for those, let me know and I'd be happy to give them to you. Whatever you do though, don't give up!

Man i've totally been there...what helped me was joining a christian youth program. Most churches in my country have them. Try and find one. Its awesome getting back in touch with the spirit of god through ministry with other people your same age! Get amongst it! :) God bless

Get involved. Don't just go to Church, Be the Church. Summer is actually a great time to renew your faith since the distraction of school and all that comes with it isn't hanging over your head. It's just keeping up that faith throughout the year that is tough for many christians. Not to sound preachy, but, I agree with the above people, you've got to keep up daily prayer, daily reading b/c being a christian means to pick up your cross daily. Having a close relationship requires spending time with a person several times if not every day of a week. Like the way you spend time with a best friend, the way you must spend your time with God. So, find out what the youth group is doing, find out what types of summer programs your congregation may have going on, attend class, and keep up reading your bible and talking to God.
