  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just started law school a month ago and wondered if any others here are in law school as well. It's been nearly 20 years since I graduated from college, so it is a huge adjustment that way, and the completely different way that law school is taught. It's kind of like "backwards" teaching. It's not "here's all the laws you need to learn", but "here, read these cases, figure out what the laws are and how they are to be applied". Plus, you don't really get any feedback during the year. Finals are in May and are 90% of our grade (midterms in December are the other 10%).

Anyone have any hints, tips or suggestions that will make the next 3 years any easier? I have joined a study group, and hoping that will help me. I'd love to hear others' experiences.

those case laws establish the laws. laws aren't set in stone per se. the laws you learn are more derived than anything else. courts don't create legislative law. if you can't apply stare decisis come term time, you're probably in the wrong school.

i study constitutional law for fun so no, i'm not in law school, but i can claim that i know more about reproductive law than most women.
