Anyone else have Italian Greyhounds?

I'm new to the forum. I have two Italian Greyhounds named Vinnie and Fredo. Any other IG slaves..uh ... I mean owners out there.

I don't have this breed, but weird enough, this morning I was taking the Purina dog breed selector test, and Italian Greyhounds were my #1 option!

Ha! That is great! I took a test like that and it gave me Bernese Mountain Dog! I can't think of anything more opposite of IGs. IGs are great dogs though.

I just took that test and though I'm a fan of greyhounds in general.....my best breed was the miniature poodle. Maybe that's because I practically grew up with one for 9 years.

Its probably what I'll get....I still love greyhounds though.

If I ever get another dog, an IG is what I want. They are SOOOOO cute! Are yours calm or are they pretty high strung dogs?

Both of mine are pretty high-strung, one more than the other. But they are still fairly young at about 2 years old. They seem to have 2 speeds: stop and go!. They're either running around and playing full speed or sacked out in my lap. As a breed they tend to be a little nervous and high-strung around strangers, and very affectionate with their own people. But I've seen IGs with just about any temperament from very shy to very friendly, sedate to non-stop energy. If you get one through rescue you can see what he/she is like as an adult, and skip all the potty training stuff
