• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Anybody else finishing soon?

I'm getting to the end of my final project for my Masters degree, due on September 1. I'll graduate in November. I'm not sure yet whether I'll ever attempt a PhD (right now I'm leaning more towards trying to write for publication, and working indefinitely to pay the bills) so this could be the end of higher education for me!

I see a lot of people on the forums are starting college soon, but is anybody else finishing? Or anybody going into their final year? What are your plans for the next step?

:)

I can't really say whether or not I'll finish soon because I might spend some extra time in undergrad. I'm a junior now, and after this I plan to go get a Master of Science in cell and molecular biology while getting a MD. After I get that doctorate and master's I'll probably stop...

I have 1.5 years left for my BS degree since I am doing a dual degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering.

The industry I am entering is very high paying for having just a BS degree and will pay for graduate school for you so there is no point in going strait to grad school. Good MBA programs typically require 4 years work experience anyway.

Wow, you're finishing a Master's Degree by age 22? That is quite impressive.

Anyway, as for me, I'll be graduating with my degrees in physics and math this December. I would have graduated last May, but I added a math major last year, so I've got a few additional math classes to complete.

Yep, I was 22 a month ago - I was always one of the youngest in the year at school and never took a year. Didn't see the point until now. It's good to know it's over with early.

Congrats! :)
