Does anyone have a helpful sleep salutation for people that suffer from OCD/unwanted thoughts?
The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Did anyone let you know to test the thyroid (it's usually the cause, or part of it according to my medical training) ....My issue was sleep apnea. After years of suffering I finally broke down and got a CPAC machine. Works good. Takes a little getting use to. But I sleep 8 hours now without waking. Never done that before. I am 66 now.
No. But I have a checkup next month. I will mention it to Dr Ashley.Did anyone let you know to test the thyroid (it's usually the cause, or part of it according to my medical training) ....
My pastor said if anyone has any trouble sleeping get a tape of one of his sermons. That seems to put people to sleep quick. I do not lay in bed thinking. I listen to music or listen to a teaching on youtube. We are to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.Does anyone have a helpful sleep salutation for people that suffer from OCD/unwanted thoughts?
If they/ their office / did not mention this before, it is possible if not already likely that another source may have to be consulted - it is not in some clinics protocols....No. But I have a checkup next month. I will mention it to Dr Ashley.
THanks
Love you signature. Hebrews 1 has been one of my favorite chapters.I would try....

I put on my favorite movie. Just a matter of minutes I will be out.Funny.
There's great joke about that.
The Pastor noticed a parishioner had dozed off in the middle of his sermon, and asked the man sitting next to him to wake him. The man replied, "You wake him, you put him to sleep."
Number 1 is seeing your doctor.Does anyone have a helpful sleep salutation for people that suffer from OCD/unwanted thoughts?

The Rosary.
A good book or a good silent movie.
I suffer from being exhausted by the racing thoughts keeping me up.
Prayers for your peace.![]()
Silent movies do it for me every time! I just watched Pandora’s Box with Louise Brooks the other night. (1929). I had it on record and finally finished it on the third night.I haven't seen a doctor since I was nine
I like the silent movie idea tho.
I've heard of that. It has Francis Lederer. He was great in Romance in ManhattanSilent movies do it for me every time! I just watched Pandora’s Box with Louise Brooks the other night. (1929). I had it in record and finally finished it on the third night.
It is German in origin but I’m telling you, I love the silents. They are fascinating yet lull you to sleep at the same time. Give it a try and give us an update. You can even find DVDs at your local library for free.I've heard of that. It has Francis Lederer. He was great in Romance in Manhattan
