So are women allowed to have authority over men in the Southern Baptist denomination? See, I believe that women are not allowed have authority over men and are not allowed to be pastors or preachers in church so this is important to me. Women are allowed to serve in leadership positions in women's ministry, children's ministry, and youth ministry. Also, they are able to help lead outreach ministries, and in areas of counseling. To my knowledge, women are not allowed to be elders given the nature of the position. It differs by church, some are more conservative than others. I know churches who have women teaching adult co-ed Sunday School classes and other churches that wouldn't think of it. The above is just the Convention's statement on said topic.

I agree. I am not certain what requirements the SBC has for someone to be in fellowship with them but I would assume that they would not allow something like that.The Lord's Envoy said:Im southern baptist.
That would be tagic if I found that to be true.
SBC Churches operate independantly, but as far as I understand it, to be included in the SB Covention they are not allowed to do that. Fellowship would be severed.
