Hmm. Kill off Lana. It would be nice. . . but they really can't, she's a DC Comics canon character. She marries Pete. And then divorces him.

Bring back Pete? He was an awesome character, and he should come back for story arcs (he might be back for the prom episode) but they shouldn't make him a main again until they figure out what to do with him.

Get rid of the whole Lana/Jason storyline? I really don't mind it that much. It connects right back to the Kryptonian stones and Clark. Magic, while its new to "Smallville", has always been part of the Superman mythology, and it makes sense that witches would be looking for the stones in ancient times. The controversial thing is making Lana the descendent of the witch. But she was so annoying already, is it really that surprising? ;) And I like Jason as a character. There are theories that he's connected to this DC Comics character named Jason Blood, which I think would be kind of cool. Even if he's not, he's an interesting character. He's got a really creepy mother though.

More Lex and Lionel? While there have been some episodes earlier in the season ("Facade" and "Devoted") that I wish Lex could have factored into more, I think his character is best this season, because he's really developing into a darker character. In the past we've seen hints of darkness, but now there are bombshells. Last week's episode was huge for Evil!Lex. As he gets more power-hungry and desperate to get the stones, I think he's going to become even darker.

As for Lionel, though he has been underused this season, I'm really intrigued to find out whether he's reformed or not.

This season had some pointless sexual content earlier on, but I think it was necessary in certain episodes, like "Bound" (the episode where it was thought Lex had murdered the woman and his very shady lifestyle was revealed) and "Unsafe", (the first episode where Alicia returned, which led into the awesome "Pariah.")

Overall, I think this season could turn out to be the best ever when its finished. It's showing Clark getting more mature and Lex getting darker. Lois Lane's finally on the show ( ) and Chloe's just learned something very big. The Superman mythology's being utilized, hopefully leading to the Fortress of Solitude at the end of the season. Heck, even Lana's not just whining over Clark anymore!
