  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay, I confess, I'm just getting started back in school after about five years off and it's a bit scary. I'm doing just fine, but I don't have nearly the attention span I had back when first going to college. Also, the very long days are quite a bit longer than back then!

Anyone else recently return to college after a break? What were your thoughts?

I have returned back to school after being out for a year. I know that is not the same as 5, but I am doing an accelerated program at a community college which is quite different compared to University. I do find the days very long. In University I did may 15 hours of class a week, while now I do about 30. You may be find it hard also because adults learn different than students who have never been away from school.

Ah, whew!

I've found very much also that anything I learn anymore, I have to tie it in with experience. Before it was all just theory. Now it's the confluence of theory and experience where I learn best.

Still can't concentrate. :p

I moved out with a boyfriend when I was 17 (wasn't a Christian back then) and went back to my parents' home when I was 19. I got into college at age 20. Then my family moved and I had to find a new school and I had some medical problems, so I had to take a short break. I take online classes as well as on campus ones, so my days don't seem very long at all. Online classes usually have a LOT more work than the ones on campus, but I like the flexibility of taking classes online.
